Mdrops, welcome to the stage! I was your next door neighbor, grew up in Riverview..!
Fished the Detroit River and Lake Erie for 40 years+… hope you are able to get out fishing! If I still lived there I would come and get you out on the water!
I now live in Atlanta Michigan with my darling wife of 38 years..! I too have fished and hunted the U.P. and lately the Northern Lower…

Winter wait is over. Big greenie today welcoming me back on the water. Saw some fish hanging in about 10-15 ft of water on the FFS, but really tough to motivate. Fritz’s flat side managed to catch a few good ones. All fish released to fight again. Tight lines to all

Well that was worth the wait, nice fish JB!

So on my way home a few days ago I made a few stops at the lake to try for pike off the bank. I didn't get any hits from pike, but I did catch 3 of what I think are Walleye fry. They were all about 2" long. I snagged them with a jerkbait. There must have been hundreds of them right next to shore. I would have thought if these were from last year they would be a lot bigger than this. As most info says 1 year old eye's are from 4" to 6" and I don't see how these are this years hatch as the lake water temp is still in the low to mid 40's. Anyone here know walleye spawning habits?
So on my way home a few days ago I made a few stop... (show quote)

Wife and I went to Walter F George (Lake Eufaula, AL/GA) where she caught this bass on a creek chub live minnow in Lilly pads in 2 feet of water. The fish had a three pound head and length but only weighed 2.18 lbs. Look close at the picture of it's tail half and you will see two indentions (scars) from where it was bitten and has since healed up. I assume it was a gator that tried to eat it, but it somehow escaped that fate.

Congrats to your wife Tim!
Amazing how they can heal from something like that!

I tried a new lake (Bartlett) on Wed and got skunked. So went back to Saguro yesterday. 9 nice bass and whatever this is? I guess it's a striped bass but it was so fat it looked like a crappie.

The largest bass was 20.5 inches and weighed 8.1 pounds. Am I in heaven?

I think you are in heaven!
Beautiful fish and beautiful weather… darn close anyway!
