Skunked more times than I care to remember there. Mainly known for black bass fishing. I don't know if the state even stocks trout there anymore in the winter. Too bad since it's my closest freshwater lake.
The two best days with a boat, the day you buy it and the day you sell that puppy.Been there done that. Forgot to install the stern plug and almost sank her the first day!
Sounds about right to me. Same setup here, but a 9’6”” rod with a 4000 size Salt striker bait runner.
Ditto on the Micro-lite! I have the 7’ version. Casts a mile.
The old ugly stick gets the job done and even bluegills feel like monsters on their ultralight version. They cast light baits well also.
I suppose you could rig it with a C-rig, attached to a leader and an angler's clip. experiment with different leader length to see how deep it runs, until you get the results you need.
You'll notice water being drawn out from the hotdogs, so drain whatever you place them in well. plastic bags would tend to collect the water, so poke a few holes in the bag and place the bag in a plastic bowl to catch the water.
I add them all together at once.
Try salting down your hotdogs for about 48 hours, they become rubbery and stay on the hook a lot better.
Never a good idea, but I've been guilty and lucky as well. No mishaps!
Lizard fish, no good reason for them.
The hardest thing about retirement fishing is finding someone who wants to go! The kids fish with the kids, and that's about it.
Thanks for the recommendations.
