Went fishing today, the bite was slow but the ones we did get were pretty good. Fished from 1pm-6pm. I got 2 bites, missed one and the other was a 4lber...and Grumpy Old Vet got 3 bites, missed one and caught this 9lb 14oz...mammoth. Its his dream to catch a double digit he was so close..
Caught it on a green pumpkin senko in 2' of water right before the rain storm tonight around 5:30pm. The past 7 days of fishing have been really good for us.. We've caught 3 share-a-lunkers in the past 7 days..(2 on Lake Fork) and multiple 4's, 5's... the fishing just seems better right now....If you are not fishing because it too cold, rainy or windy you are missing out on potential giants! They are moving up shallow and are chewin! Look for clean creeks that feed the lakes and the greenest hydrilla and vegetation you can find. Ill be posting the video on my youtube channel soon.

Okay, Stagers, I need a little advice. I find that I'm the proud owner of a new hernia, maybe a double. I go to the surgeon Thursday. I've got a buddy who I shoot with who has gone throught the surgery. He's telling me it is some shere between "Oh, Sh-T!" and " I Wish I Was Dead!". He knows I'm a sneezer and he said if I know what makes me sneeze, get rid of it. If my dogs makes me sneeze, take 'em to the pound, if I have a neighbor that makes me sneeze, ask the to move at least 8 miles away and if it's Linda, divorce her now. Because sneezing after a hernia operation is the worst thing short of being run over by an 18 wheeler. So, cousins, here's the question. How bad is the recovery from a hernia operation ? And if you have had a double, would you advise to do it at the same time or at a later date?

I have spent most of my adult life fishing without a required fishing license. Though I have been lucky not to get caught most of the time, I have received a number of citations over the years. During a recent outing I was approached by a Fish and Game Officer who fortunately cut me a break and instead of giving me another ticket he let me go with a warning. Since I am now retired and would be fishing more often, I decided to spend the $81.00 and avoid any future citations. I went online and paid the fee and on the day my license came in the mail I received a second notice from the Department of Fish and Game informing me that my license would be suspended in 150 days for being delinquent on child support payments for my 35-year-old son. The notice said I could appeal this decision by requesting an appeal hearing with the Department of Child Support Services. Child support gains nothing by this action. They did this simply because they could. By the time I'm finished jumping through their hoops to clear this up the fishing license will be expired.

Need prayers again friends. Saturday son and wife were at a fun park with the great grands. while playing miniture golf he had a seizure and fell hitting his face and left shoulder. taken to ER in ambulance. We went to his house to sit with the kids while his wife and daughter went to hospital. He had one about 4 years ago. The CT scan showed no brain bleed and no broken bones in his face. His left eye is black and so swollen he can barely see so depth perception is off. His whole face is swollen and purple on mostly the left side. Both knees are skinned and large bruise on left hip. They found that he was prescribed Tramadol for pain which can contribute to seizures. Also alcohol can contribute and he had a relapse last week and drank heavily two days in the last three weeks. (Recovering Alcoholic). The last time he could not drive until cleared by a neurologist and that was 3 months. As a traveling salesman for Kimble Midwest that will most likely put him on temporary disability until cleared. Plan called for by the doctor is: Get off the Tramadol. Evidently his seizure tendency was not noted when his PCP retired and he got a new doc although in the same office. NO Alcohol period! Get more rest and reduce stress which is tough when out of work. He has had considerable problem sleeping according to his sleep number bed. He is only 53 and our baby although he is 6'2" and 300lbs. The weight also may contribute to his problems. Also he has had lots of broken bones when younger. The worst was broken right femur, twice. Motorcycles when younger, of course. As you can see he needs our prayers. He is a Christian so he does pray but like most of us struggles with lots of pain and bone and joint problems. At least since moving back from Texas I can drive him and he won't be home going stir crazy. Hopefully this wont last 3 months like last time but it is and will be life changing. Jean and I are only 6 miles away and of course retired so are available to help out. Thanks in advance for your thoughts and prayers Stagers. I know it works.

On another topic, our son David in Indianapolis is adapting to his loss of sight in his right eye. Still keeping it dilated to help heal for another two weeks but he is driving carefully and working on the computer some though the eye strain slows him down. Computer drafting is his work.
