Now if you can just resist the urge to spend your entire check on gear, before you get paid... 🥴

Good news Lee. Do you get a discount on bait and lures, etc? The job could have some perks.

Bed fishing I've always done good with a texas rigged lizard. I've been told they represent a salamander and the fish think they're stealing their eggs.

Thanks Ivey, but we just missed the spawn at this pond and the beds are abandoned but I've heard that too, i think the fish are gonna be hiding in the shade and there's no way to get to them at this pond, too many overhanging trees and no open spots on the bank, better off trying in low light situations i guess.

If the beds are still active, try a Senko rigged wacky, a Ned rig or a creature bait on a Carolina rig or a drop shot. If inactive, fish deeper as they are recovering from the spawn, probably in 8-12’ of water. Good luck!

Thanks Oj, we tried live bait then i switched to a Carolina rig with no results, Texas rigged a Senko, crankbaits, we tried, but i didn't try a ned rig or a drop shot maybe that was the secret, well theres always next time.

I can remember when diesel fuel hit $1 for the first time EVER (that I'm aware of),... how there was a guy delivering drill pipe to Settoon's Landing @ Belle River, for us to get loaded onto a deck barge and out to a drilling rig, about a mile & 1/2 or so away. That guy was an "Owner-Opperator" and was "fretting about" having to "park the truck and leave it parked" pretty soon. This was during the beginnings of that so-called "Arab Oil Embargo". ¿You guys remember that?
I can remember when diesel fuel hit $1 for the fir... (show quote)

When i had my boat from 2003 to 2012 diesel was under $2.00 a gallon, then that went up, the cost of the marina got to high, storage was too expensive, i couldn't afford it no more so i had to sell it, broke my heart but the rising cost of everything killed me but it was fun while it lasted.

Great ain't it Lee. I'm lucky enough to live on the border. I can pick n choose which state to shop in. Don't see prices going down over the next 4yrs 😕

I know what you mean, and there's nothing we could do about it except pay the higher prices.
