You can also go under the bridge by Manteo

Thanks for the advice Kandy. Can't believe you're still going through that cr#p about unvaccinated. Hadn't heard anything lately, figured it got worked out. Sorry you have to deal with that. Good luck if you go fishing. Boyfriend recovered from accident and doing ok?

So...my question is...if you catch a decent sized tuna and get it in to shore.....wheres the first place to take it to? Home or a market to sell it? Would you be able to get crazy money for one then or does needing a license to sell fish comes into play?

Check regulations very carefully, they don't give 2nd chances. Google highly Migratory fish permits. I believe now only commercial licensed vessels can keep tuna 72"+. Smaller are great eating, don't sell unless you have all regulations and permits in order. s

Yankee what part of IBX are you going to. I always stayed in Kitty Hawk Kill Devil Hills area. I did fish from corolla to Hatteras point. All of the piers where i went there produced at the right time. I preferred Jeannette pier. Oregon inlet area was good surf fishing. Hatteras point was always good. If you've never been there ckeck outthe lighthouses inthe area. Oregon inlet has a marina where charters go out. Have fun n good luck brother🎣🎣🎣

Thanks Grizz, I meant to put in where we're staying. We have an airbnb in Kill Devil Hiils. Guess you know the area. Appreciate the advice, will check it all out.

No questions here Steve. You have nothing to prove. Just pullin'

went out for Tunnies yesterday (false abacore) trolling 2 Yozuris about 80 yards back. Rod gets hit and the spool is screaming. tightened the drag a little no effect. So dumb ass me decides to palm the spool (WRONG) so as soon I touched it the fish broke off with the lure. Damn, chop started to get a little dicey so we headed for a different spot. arrived about 20 minutes later and started same routine trolling 2. started hitting black bass (5 keepers, 4 shorts) that bite stopped and the bluefish arrived (kept 4 of 6) a couple of small schoolies finished that bite. moved down the rip 1/2 mile and fell into fluke (8 no keepers). tide changed so we decided to head back to where we hit the first fish. still trolling 2 we doubled up after about 15 minutes. J's broke off and I played mine for 15 minutes. everytime he saw the boat he ran (this time NO TOUCHY DRAG) got him to the boat took a couple of pic and set him free. Pictures show some of the boat, tunnie and grilled black bass with veggie melange over jasmin rice. I'm now going to fire up the smoker to make smoked bluefish pate. Tite lines all!
well br went out for Tunnies yesterday (false abac... (show quote)

Sounds like a couple of great days, Rip. The tunnies are great fun when you fi n d a school. Then you have the black sea bass and smoked blues for dinner! Oh what a great day, glad you had a good time

Well guys Brad , Marshall and I went to the Napa today. Got there and there were boats and people everywhere. You would have thought it was Labor Day Weekend or something. Gees.
Got out on the river and it was socked in with fog. Took us a while to get to the fishin grounds but we finally made it. Good thing Brad has GPS and we could follow from our previous trips.
We get out there and right off the bat Brad hooks up. And then again and again... Pretty soon Marshall finally catches one and then another. Brad keeps catchin fish after fish and Marshall hooks his 3rd and Brad has already landed 10 or 11. Been there bout 20 min and I HAVEN'T EVEN GOTTEN A BITE !
Finally I do catch 1 small one. The ones they are catchin are in the 20 to 22 inch range. What's up with that?
We're in bout 4 to 5 feet of water and all the sudden Brad yells " Look at that. " I look but didn't see it in time. He saw bout an 8 foot sturgeon swim right next to the boat. Bout an hour later we saw it jump and then a 3rd time it came up and splashed. Now Brad wants to start sturgeon fishin when we're finished striper fishin for the
day.
After we've been there bout an hour I finally start to catch a few more. Finally got on a little hot streak and ended up boatin bout 19. I think Marshall ended up with bout 12. Course BRAD ended up with close to 35.
All in all we had a 60+ fish day and kept 4. One was 22, 2 were 21 and 1 was 19.
Brad released several that were bigger than the 19. But we didn't want to quit fishin that early to keep those fish.
The 19 incher was the one I caught. Lol. The 2 21 inchers they doubled on and I still couldn't get bit then. That was pretty early.
Had a great time and I tried to let Marshall have the next to the best spot near the front of the boat near Brad for most of the day. Later he wanted to switch up so I started catchin more fish after that. Not real sure but I think he was regrettin changing spots.
By the way, I forgot my phone AND my hearing aids this morning and didn't have enough time to go back and get them. SO, no pics. I could post the pic from last weeks trip, they look pretty much the same.

Here'she
last weeks.

Hi all, I'm going to the Outer Banks, NC Thursday for a week. I know there are fishing piers and I'm sure there are probably areas for surf fishing. Anybody have suggestions? Also, just my friend and I will be fishing. Thinking about a charter, but not just for the 2 of us. Do they do split charters with another group of 2 or 3? Any help would be appreciated. Promise I'll send pics, if no fish scenery and pretty girls, LOL

Leopard and sand shark taste good. Caught Blue shark but never eaten.

You do not want to eat blue sharks, trust me. Like bapabear said, you don't want to eat sharks that urinate through their skin, and blue sharks are probably the worst. I have caught many and wouldn't feed to my worst enemy.

Has anyone been out on the big lake lately? I haven't fished there in probably 35yrs. Thinking of hitting it Tuesday, launching at the Squantz Cove ramp on the northwest side. There used to be great Smallmouth fishing around Spear Point, Deer Island, and Green Island. Anyone with recent reports, I'd appreciate it. Thanks, Fred

Good luck Fred. I'm sure you'll find them. Hopefully all the crazies are gone by Tuesday and the lake will be yours. Looking forward to pics

Anyone have any info on the tuna fishing off RI?

Welcome NCDC. I love Block Island and have done a lot of tuna fishing out of Rhode Island, but that was 30 years ago. I know the tuna were in close to Block all summer but not sure about now. Fred's advice is usually real good so I would believe what he is saying

most sharks urinate thru there skin, that is why it smells like the old wet diaper. LOL. The Thresher, Mako, Greatwhite, and there is one more but i can't think of it right now, all have uranary tracks, and do not pee thru the skin, and r good to eat, and do not smell bad

You are right Bucky. I have caught and eaten both Thresher and Mako and they are very good. Never caught or ate a great white, don't think I want to anymore.

There I was sitting at the bar staring at my drink when a large, trouble-making biker steps up next to me, grabs my drink and gulps it down in one swig.
"Well, whatcha' gonna do about it?" he says, menacingly, as I burst into tears.
"Come on, man," the biker says, "I didn't think you'd CRY. I can't stand to see a man crying."
"This is the worst day of my life," I say. "I'm a complete failure. I was late to a meeting and my boss fired me. When I went to the parking lot, I found my car had been stolen and I don't have any insurance. I left my wallet in the cab I took home. I found my wife with another man and then my dog bit me."

"So . . . I came to this bar to work up the courage to put an end to it all, I buy a drink, I drop a capsule in and sit here watching the poison dissolve; and then you show up and drink the whole damn thing!....

But hell... enough about me... how are you doing?
