went out for Tunnies yesterday (false abacore) trolling 2 Yozuris about 80 yards back. Rod gets hit and the spool is screaming. tightened the drag a little no effect. So dumb ass me decides to palm the spool (WRONG) so as soon I touched it the fish broke off with the lure. Damn, chop started to get a little dicey so we headed for a different spot. arrived about 20 minutes later and started same routine trolling 2. started hitting black bass (5 keepers, 4 shorts) that bite stopped and the bluefish arrived (kept 4 of 6) a couple of small schoolies finished that bite. moved down the rip 1/2 mile and fell into fluke (8 no keepers). tide changed so we decided to head back to where we hit the first fish. still trolling 2 we doubled up after about 15 minutes. J's broke off and I played mine for 15 minutes. everytime he saw the boat he ran (this time NO TOUCHY DRAG) got him to the boat took a couple of pic and set him free. Pictures show some of the boat, tunnie and grilled black bass with veggie melange over jasmin rice. I'm now going to fire up the smoker to make smoked bluefish pate. Tite lines all!

Well guys Brad , Marshall and I went to the Napa today. Got there and there were boats and people everywhere. You would have thought it was Labor Day Weekend or something. Gees.
Got out on the river and it was socked in with fog. Took us a while to get to the fishin grounds but we finally made it. Good thing Brad has GPS and we could follow from our previous trips.
We get out there and right off the bat Brad hooks up. And then again and again... Pretty soon Marshall finally catches one and then another. Brad keeps catchin fish after fish and Marshall hooks his 3rd and Brad has already landed 10 or 11. Been there bout 20 min and I HAVEN'T EVEN GOTTEN A BITE !
Finally I do catch 1 small one. The ones they are catchin are in the 20 to 22 inch range. What's up with that?
We're in bout 4 to 5 feet of water and all the sudden Brad yells " Look at that. " I look but didn't see it in time. He saw bout an 8 foot sturgeon swim right next to the boat. Bout an hour later we saw it jump and then a 3rd time it came up and splashed. Now Brad wants to start sturgeon fishin when we're finished striper fishin for the
day.
After we've been there bout an hour I finally start to catch a few more. Finally got on a little hot streak and ended up boatin bout 19. I think Marshall ended up with bout 12. Course BRAD ended up with close to 35.
All in all we had a 60+ fish day and kept 4. One was 22, 2 were 21 and 1 was 19.
Brad released several that were bigger than the 19. But we didn't want to quit fishin that early to keep those fish.
The 19 incher was the one I caught. Lol. The 2 21 inchers they doubled on and I still couldn't get bit then. That was pretty early.
Had a great time and I tried to let Marshall have the next to the best spot near the front of the boat near Brad for most of the day. Later he wanted to switch up so I started catchin more fish after that. Not real sure but I think he was regrettin changing spots.
By the way, I forgot my phone AND my hearing aids this morning and didn't have enough time to go back and get them. SO, no pics. I could post the pic from last weeks trip, they look pretty much the same.

last weeks.

There I was sitting at the bar staring at my drink when a large, trouble-making biker steps up next to me, grabs my drink and gulps it down in one swig.
"Well, whatcha' gonna do about it?" he says, menacingly, as I burst into tears.
"Come on, man," the biker says, "I didn't think you'd CRY. I can't stand to see a man crying."
"This is the worst day of my life," I say. "I'm a complete failure. I was late to a meeting and my boss fired me. When I went to the parking lot, I found my car had been stolen and I don't have any insurance. I left my wallet in the cab I took home. I found my wife with another man and then my dog bit me."

"So . . . I came to this bar to work up the courage to put an end to it all, I buy a drink, I drop a capsule in and sit here watching the poison dissolve; and then you show up and drink the whole damn thing!....

But hell... enough about me... how are you doing?
