Larger alum. boats on rollers may warp the hull where it sits on the rollers. Have seen this on a friends 19 footer.
I'm not sure if being able to swim or not is the question. Even on a 90 degree day the water can be as much as 15 degrees cooler and is a shock to the body -Wear IT Please.
I watched and outdoor show once where some guys were fishing lake Erie with fly rods catching carp on dry fly's. They stated it was like bone fishing the flats and their even stronger!!!!

I spent 22 years in the army electronic engineer and power generation. Then 21 years at Proctor and Gambel paper products running a decorator that put pictures on paper towel. Now retired and fish hunt do almost anything out doors.
I have gone out on some days and caught bass, and others and caught many different fish. If I catch fish great if I don't great I'm just out to enjoy myself.

6 to 12 ft pretty shallow here in N.E. Pa. the thermocline is usually about 20 to 25 ft. Larger fish will be there but smaller will be scared.
