Brook trout, not brown. Always my favorite to catch! Looks like they survived the flooding.

Convict has no snow, clear roads and banks. Not sure where the good spots are tho. I had a 'slow day' up there last week, but it was saturated with people. Might have better luck now without the holiday.

I've never been to the one more north, I'll have to check it out sometime. Maybe coming from the other side of the mountain is open.

I was up there a couple weeks ago and the water was still gushing chocolate water, totally unfishable. The road was closed right after the bridge at Sherman pass. Maybe it's let up by now, but looking at some of these other little streams still gushing and murky, wouldn't seem so.

I had one on the hook yesterday that was pretty big but he got off. The rest of the day was extremely slow, so there are fish, just not many it would seem.

A couple guys I saw yesterday said they hooked on 15 this weekend from the shore. I didn't get any details cus I wasn't headed that way, but sounds like there's fish!

Took a drive to Kern river 4/23. Still unfishable I'd say. Too much flow and chocolate water. The lake is full tho and looks to be stocked soon
