Are they even open yet up there yet? I did hear that the snow plows finally made it to the top of Sonora Pass. Pretty much anywhere around the resort and upstream is good fishing. Early morning and late afternoon is when I've had the best luck but have also caught fish any time of the day. Good luck the water will be running fast!

Is that the Strawberry that's on Hwy 50 goin to Tahoe?

I was up there a couple weeks ago and the water was still gushing chocolate water, totally unfishable. The road was closed right after the bridge at Sherman pass. Maybe it's let up by now, but looking at some of these other little streams still gushing and murky, wouldn't seem so.

There are 2 Kennedy Meadows in the Sierra.
1 is on the South Fork of the Kern River. The other is much further North, I’m not sure where exactly, but I’ve seen it on a map.
I would expect the South Fork of the Kern is still running high and muddy.

I've never been to the one more north, I'll have to check it out sometime. Maybe coming from the other side of the mountain is open.

I saw a report with some pictures taken at Deadman. The water appeared to have receded a lot and she caught 34 and released 31, keeping 3 for dinner. This was yesterday 9/15/2023.
