Went out early today with my neighbor Tom. We made the 45 minute boat ride south to turtle bay. We boated snook, redfish, trout, Lady fish, fish and Jack's.
The trout we're on the chew we boated over 50. Great morning back on the lift At 11:00 all fish on artificial baits.

Very nice!

I agree with Kerry. If the trail boss cannot figure out which way they are going, he is not likely to be a top hand! If you know N, you should be able to figure the rest out. Just Sayin...RJS

The fish in our lake have “Whopper Appetites” and will try to eat anything. Just look at size of the fish on front that treble hook.

I hope that was catch and release Grandpa!

Post photos of your “personal best” right here.

You inspired me Crog. I took this pic 2 years ago and look at it every once in a while just to stay humble.

Just a quick hello, looking forward to viewing the site and keeping up with where the fish are located.

Welcome to the Stage NM. I’m just up the road from you near Youngsville. I’m heading over to Pamlico Sound middle of next month for a few days of fishing. Sounds like the red and trout bite over that way is improving some but the water is still mighty warm. First2 and last 2 hours of daylight seem to be working pretty good for some. Have fun and tight lines!

Every summer I look forward to fresh fruit and vegetables. I love fresh corn. There is a trend in southern New England that annoys the crap out of me….peeling fresh corn a couple of inches and putting it back.
I stopped at the store today to buy some corn for dinner. There was an older woman at the corn table peeling back the husks, inspecting the corn and putting it back. She had peeled about 20 ears already and there was no stopping her.
So I asked —what are you doing?
She answered—I want to make sure they’re good and I want small kernels.
I said—-Well mam, Please stay away from the dam bananas! She smirked and walked away “cornless”.
Does this happen where you live?
Every summer I look forward to fresh fruit and veg... (show quote)

It doesn’t happen at my place. Me and the wife go out 3 or 4 times each year and pull a bushel of ears. With 200 acres of corn I’m not bothered by strippers in the store at all.

I am heading to New Bern over Labor Day weekend on a fishing trip. Hoping to get some reds and striper. Any tips. tricks, or advice? We went in October of last year and the big fish were already out of the area.

Thanks in advance- Tight lines!!!

Welcome to the stage Charlie. My sons and I are headed to Arapahoe in mid-September to target reds, trout and flounder. I would certainly be interested in how you do. Be sure to check back with us after your trip. Pictures are great! Advice: live shrimp under a popping cork will sure get their attention. If you can get out on a still morning, taking a good sized red on atop water lure is hard to beat. I have a son that lives near you. He is at Fairview. Best of luck to you! Tight lines!

Well it was stated and it certainly was a turtle. I learned that the vertebrae are attached permanently to the shell something I never knew. Not exactly flexible.

Thank you for letting us know Cannondell. You’ve got a conversation starter there.

Bands is a smart man. They are located in the pancreas. Dr. Owens, my college zoology professor, would be proud of me remembering that.

Looks like an appendage of some sort. Like maybe from the front flipper of porpoise or a whale. Just a guess.

I’m with Four on this. Front flipper of porpoise or small whale. Bone with cartilage attached.

Welcome to the Stage Girl. I can’t help with your question but hopefully someone who lives out that way will respond to you. It’s a real friendly and helpful group here generally. Let us know of your success.

Got out early and the air temp. was 73. Light wind from the NNE. First fish on in 5 min. And boy was it a hog. Must have jinxed me. Didn't get another bite for 15 min,s. 2 hours and 30 min. I called it quits with 11 fish in all.

Way to go Gordon! Those are some nice catfish, will be some good eating. Thanks for sharing the pics with us.
