Last week my sister died on Tuesday and her funeral was on Thursday. This week my sister-in-law passed on Tuesday the funeral plans are being arranged this morning. My brother has asked me to officiate the funeral. I’m not sure that I am up to the task but how do you turn down your brother. I will do this but this is going to be difficult. If you are a believer please pray that God gives me the correct words Thanks in advance.

God is gracious and His love and your faith will carry you through. My entire family is gone, my mother being the last after burying my dad and two of her children. I spoke at her funeral. Wasn't eloquent or long - just heartfelt. Pray for strength and trust in Him for the rest.

May God bless you, your brother and your families.

Son has been fishing it since moving here in 2008 and got into ice fishing 3 years ago. Early season fishing is gr8; limits out with good-sized fish in 2 - 3 hours most days. We fished it Feb and Mar and did equally well - just took a little longer. Rainbow and occasional cutthroat.

Do you shore fish, float tube or boat?

Good luck on 19th.

Hi, I am new to this Forum so I hope I can learn from others and share my stories. I fly fished Lake Panquitch in Utah last Friday (8/5/22) for the first time. Weather was nice, not too crowded. It was not a great fishing day overall, expected much more hits. I hooked 4 rainbows but only landed one because my new net fell off into the lake and was lost. In regard to flies, the ONLY thing they hit was a white mini leech jig by Landon Mayer. I threw scuds, sow bugs, woolly buggers in black, olive, you name it. Heading back on the 19th to try again.

Thanks for info Flygeek. Currently renting house in Cedar City. Fished Panquitch through ice this winter and did quite well. Will give try with fly rod soon. Thanks for update.

Going to Moultrie On the 20th of August for a week. Will target Cats and maybe some stripes. Anyone have any tips of what depths and types of bait I should try for the cats and if the stripes are hitting anything. Thanks.

Met a guy two years ago who fished for cats on Moultrie. Caught big ones (25 - 40lbs) using chicken livers and hot dogs marinated in cherry jello powder. Just put all together in bag and let set in fetig over night. Fished deep holes at night.

Have fun.

Had FB page for couple of years when in consulting. Never posted personal stuff. Killed it many years ago.

Have added to you my prayer list. Don't claim to have special channel to God - other than through the One whose birthday we are about to celebrate. May His grace and love be with you.

Best boots I ever used in freestone streams/rivers are Simms high top leather with studded soles. Grip amazingly well; proving solid ankle support and although leather absorbs water it is not that much. Heavier than fabric boots of course, but extra support is well worth it.

If you see or catch one kill it then run it over before burning the remains, the amphibian eats birds, fish and snakes. I don’t know if it’s edible or if the skin can be tanned.lol
THIS FISH WAS CAUGHT BY MY SON IN PA. NOT MN.

We have them here in South Carolina as well. I keep link to fish ID page on my phone so I can verify the bowfin (similar in many aspects) we catch in rivers a lot are not one of these bad boys. Quick look at pic does the trick. Never caught one and hope I don't. Regulation here is to kill and turn over to DNR to help track spread.

I seal filets in freezer bag, either ziplock or seal-a-meal. Before closing/sealing I lay filets flat and fill with enough water to cover fish. Prevents freezer burn and minimizes space in freezer.
