This is the “Northern Snakehead” and has wiggled its way from Africa to at least 10 of our wondrous States.
If you see or catch one kill it then run it over before burning the remains, the amphibian eats birds, fish and snakes. I don’t know if it’s edible or if the skin can be tanned.lol
THIS FISH WAS CAUGHT BY MY SON IN PA. NOT MN.
Yikes, more invasive species we don’t need!
I’ve not yet seen one but know they exist here in Pa. I’ve also heard that they are very good eating. Regardless of whether you eat them or not the Pa. fish commission wants you to kill them. We also now have flatheads in the Delaware river and they are decimating the smallmouth fishery, want them eliminated as well.

I had no idea they had gotten so far north. Scary! I cannot imagine the havoc they could cause if they reached Michigan and the Great Lakes Region!

Sorry I should have clarified where it was caught. PA.
They are in my area as well. MD, DE, PA, not sure about NJ. They are very aggressive, but they are fish, not amphibians. They just can survive out of water for quite a while and can move around on land.
Dog gone! I dread seeing this particular species making it's way Northward! I had heard that they were not to hardy surviving in cold waters...but perhaps they are adapting! I sure hope not! I think we can all agree that it would not break our hearts to see them disappear from the North American fisheries completely!
That looks like it might evolve into a gator!
Asians love to eat them . Some think that is how we have them.

Definitely has a lot of meat on it!
I wonder if they might eat Carp, wouldn't that be devastating to all the Carp lovers....Hahahaha
If you go into the science lab and put a muskie, a python and a rattlesnake into the blender...out comes a snakehead!
