Flerjose3,
Most impressive on a crappie setup. Thanks for the pictures.
A couple questions:
1. Were these caught from boat or shore?
2. What did you get them on?

The crappie were caught on a white tube jig/ bobber, slow retrieve. The bass were caught on white tube jig, regular retrieve. All from the bank.

Nice looking crappies and bluegill. Ellis, Ks is 224 miles from my location so I'll look for something a little
closer to home. Thanks for letting me know, definitely would like to fish the watershed. Good looking
water behind you in the photo. Good fishing to you..........

Not Ellis, Ks... Lillis. It's SE.of Frankfort.

Beautiful fish! Nice size crappie!
There’s fishing in Kansas? When I was stationed at Ft Sill I had a friend named Deeds who invited me to the family farm outside of Dodge City. He asked me what I wanted to do and I said, go fishing. And He asked where? I thought that there was nothing nearby but maybe he just didn’t want to go. Lol
Talk about flat land. Best steak I ever ate at a bar in front of the cattle stockyards.

Oh, Kansas is flat out west. I live in the beautiful FlintHills of NE Kansas. We have a great variety of fish species. Walleye, Crappie, Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass, White Bass, Wipers, all the cats too; blues, channels, flatheads. Our Flint Hills are the best beef grazing grass in the nation. Thanks for the post. Fish on!

Is it too much to ask about the location? I'm in Northeast Kansas and looking for a quiet place to fish.
Thanks

Not too much to ask at all... There is a watershed just west of Lillis on the south side of bobcat road. South Bank, pulled them out of a beaver lodge looking for crappie. Mepps minnow. They attacked it! Also got some crappie.

These 2 LM Bass gave my crappie pole a run for its money! Heck of a walk to get to the watershed but it was worth it. KDWPT has a map of walk in fishing if it helps someone fishing in Kansas.

Back to El Dorado lake for a few hours today. Winds were a little high , so I took the kayak and headed to fish the rip rap dam. I love fishing squarebills on the rocks. Well, finally got me a smallmouth AND first walleye I have ever caught. Good thing I was warned not to lip the walleye! Those things are like vampires! Nice day on the water! Hope everyone is having a wonderful Easter! Tight lines 🎣🎣

Some of the best eating fish right there. Very nice smalley and walley!

Great cat, would love to catch one that size. What was the bait?

Shad head was the bait. It was the first cat of the morning, anchored out, water temp is still a little cool for drifting (46⁰). This one went back in the lake, we like to clean the smaller ones, 15 lbs at the most. It was a great day. Last fall I pulled in a 70lb bluecat. It looked like a pig. It was almost as big around as it was long with a 44" girth. I'll send a pic.

Thank you for the nice comments! My husband and I planned on spending our retirement traveling and fishing. Hunting and fishing have been a huge part of our 40 years together, along with our 4 grown kids and their families. We lost him 2 years ago to a massive heart attack. I carry him with me and I have many fishing buddies that keep me fishing, including a trip to Astoria to fish salmon on the Columbian and into the ocean. I absolutely loved it. As for the chicken hawk on my sweatshirt... I was heading out to burn pastures after fishing and didn't want to ruin my good clothes, hahaha. I agree with the bracket play comments and would have liked to see one of the teams make it but, oh well. It's just a game and it's not like someone stole my fishing pole or something awful like that!, right?! Best wishes and full live wells to ya!

I've been fishing rainbows at Willow Lake the past week and boy are they nice! Although I've been following the posts for the past year, and have thoroughly enjoyed them, this is my first post. Thanks for the entertainment! Fish on!
