As always yer pics and pome is just great. Glad you have a good start to yer season Mike. I am a bit concerned though, after reading thru this thread it would seem ya done ruint Fredfish.🤣🤣👍👍👍
Mornin ☕! I think Fred gettin ruint ain't likely. He's too pure at heart. Thanks for the pome high-five!
It's April, the bass are supposed to be hittin,
But weather keeps changin a lot.
Lake level is stable,
So we otta be able,
To see bout some fish gettin caught.
My bud and I did find some time for a run,
And water that's calmer for casting.
We did find a few,
With lures that we threw,
But catchin just wasn't long lasting.
I had me a blast with one certain fish,
To land him was really a trick.
It took me a while,
The end made us smile,
He came up and brought me a stick!
The bass liked my worm and some were on top,
Then wind made the boat start to lurch.
We had us some fun,
And Jim caught him one,
A bluegill, what we just call perch.

I fished one tournament in the early 1970s in Arizona, and that was enough for me. Give me a depth finder in the water temperature and I'll be happy all day. I have no desire for any of the fancier equipment. Thanks for the great pome!
Thanks for the kind words! I fished a B.A.S.S. Federation tournament back in 86. Took 5th place and felt purty good about it. Especially since my bud and I were in a 14' V-bottom with a 25hp Evinrude. Watching us ride the wakes from all the big boats must've been one each hoot, but we didn't care. Not fished a tournament since, have no desire to unless maybe it was a strictly no-fish-finders situation, but who can you trust nowadays, anyway? Pocket sized "cheaters" are everywhere. Ugh. Just give me some water, some tackle and a decent day and I'm all set. That's fishin to me.

Great pome and nice catching Mike. Glad you enjoyed the pre-storm and made it back safely. Be careful in the nasty weather my friend.
I know it's a rerun, but my single biggest bass came to me when I was 15 during a thunderstorm, back when we didn't have fear of lightning. Didn't have fear of much else, either. Stillyet, my kid life here was awesome enough that I wanted to move back when I allegedly grew up.

Good pome AND crappie, Mike! 👍
Thanks Mr. H! If I was a fish keepin kinda guy, that one might have made the livewell, ceppin for the belly fulla eggs.

Nice pome, TRB. You do know the best two times to go fishing are when it's raining and when it's not.
I appreciate that. And like I've said before, my wife tells me the fish are already wet.
