Has anyone tried the river below main dam at Rayburn . I would think near raceway the water temperature should be much cooler than main lake , oxygen rich , disoriented minnows especially during power generation ? I think it should be good but never tried it ?

Hot temperature , big fish bite on big 10 inch or 12 inch worms . Early evening I find is best . I find if you find entry are’s with a natural spring works great .,grandkids and I swim in lake and you would be surprized the localized temperature difference were native spring is present. Keep those locations secrete as they are golden especially in 4 to 6 feet of water. Shade pattern also works . Tight lines

I toss mine back however, big bite is still on , big 10 inch worms , dead stick them unweighted have been exceptional, for,me in early evening (post 7pm.). I still catch quality fish in 3-6 pound range in shallow, water 3-8 feet. Limited to kayak fishing until big rig is fixed. Kayak has been great , phenomenal actually . Last year with the record high water fish remained shallow well into August . Surprised they are still in coves in significant numbers.silver dollar sized sunfish are all over the place in the South End of Rayburn . I suspect that’s why the big females are hanging around. You may if trees are two feet apart ? Last weekend was great in late afternoon. Fish are now shying away from creature baits and hitting 10 inch worms. Dead stick in 4- 8 feet . I’m still hampered by not having my big rig with cracked hull. Big worms unweighted in natural or green pumpkin with spiked chartreuse tail. Abundant half dollar sized sunfish in shallows ( probably why some big girls hanging around ).

Ps. Guys with the big rigs cannot believe how many fish I catch when using kayak . Opinion from me as I work area much slower and stealth + I can fish spots they cannot reach.

I was fishing out of my kayak and rarely take my phone as I have lake front house on the south end . Cracked my hull on my big rig and it’s taking forever to get my Champion fixed.

Late afternoon bite was exceptional. Bite has changes from pitching creature baits into the trees ( so,e still there ) to a big worm bite . 8 inch shad imitations weightless n 4 to six feet , lots of buck bass very active with an occasional big fish 4+. Tight limes

Sunday Morning Mmorial weekend . Lake was not as crowded as I expected. Weather was fantastic . Bite for ,e was still shallow . Stand up light jig heads with creature bait. Texas rigged with light slip sing we also working well. Biggest fish was not spawned out yet. Sixteen keepers before 9.30am. Fish were very tight to cover , in the trees , few in flooded hydrilla . Fishing still not hitting worms or chasing consistently. Tight lines.
