Late afternoon bite was exceptional. Bite has changes from pitching creature baits into the trees ( so,e still there ) to a big worm bite . 8 inch shad imitations weightless n 4 to six feet , lots of buck bass very active with an occasional big fish 4+. Tight limes

Sounds like a great day James. Thanks for the report, and how about some pictures next time.

I was fishing out of my kayak and rarely take my phone as I have lake front house on the south end . Cracked my hull on my big rig and it’s taking forever to get my Champion fixed.

Ps. Guys with the big rigs cannot believe how many fish I catch when using kayak . Opinion from me as I work area much slower and stealth + I can fish spots they cannot reach.

I used to fish Okeechobee out of a nice Gheenoe and often out fished the so called big rigs very frequently for the same reasons, slow and stealth and get into places they could not.Although I did have a 25hp on it as well.So many times in bigger boats you go right by something that might look interesting but not quite enough to slow down and spend the time to try it.

You may if trees are two feet apart ? Last weekend was great in late afternoon. Fish are now shying away from creature baits and hitting 10 inch worms. Dead stick in 4- 8 feet . I’m still hampered by not having my big rig with cracked hull. Big worms unweighted in natural or green pumpkin with spiked chartreuse tail. Abundant half dollar sized sunfish in shallows ( probably why some big girls hanging around ).
