O Jdidit, very good. Great way to start the day. Thanks for posting.
Great post BF. I have made a lot of mistakes with my kids. I'm retired, and my 2 boys have families of there own. I was told by one of them dad while growing up you taught me how not to treat my kids, and how important spending time with them would have been. That hurt bad, but it's true. They both seem to do a real good job with their kids. I think I needed to hear that.
Definitely not alone. Thought about it briefly one day, decided I don't need that.
Barnacles, very good. Great way to start the day, when it's only 19 degrees outside. Lol
Flytirer, you captured my thoughts and put them into words. Living here in Ohio no salt, but the waves of lake Erie sometimes dose the trick. We go to Myrtle Beach, and I spend a lot of time on the 72nd pier. Great place to observe people, and listen to the sounds of nature.
Been watching the reports about that storm, stay safe & be careful it looks like clean up will take a while.
It's so true what's been said here before, we like pictures & this is a good one, especially at this time of year. We still have 8+ inches on the ground here.
I have not taken the opportunity to drop a line in the ocean, so I will have to agree with OJdidit & Fredfish, out of the 2 species I fish for the smallmouth rate at the top of my list
Ur right Cam, say's it all. Thanks for the picture.

All of the above. I also equate fishing to gambling on an old coin slot machine. The old five cent machine is as much fun as the dollar machine, as the bluegill is as much fun as the pike. Each pull of the arm is like a cast. Then the anticipation as the wheels spin. A single cherry, is like a bobber bouncing, Three cherries is the explosion of a surface bass strike. The coins dumping in the tray equates to first seeing and landing the fish. Finally, some of us put the coins back, some of us keep the coins, but in the long run, we all end up financially poorer, but memory richer for the experience. I quit playing slot machines when they went electronic.

I like your analogy
Jer, very well said. When the grandkids are around and ask if I want to go fishing, I get the same feeling inside as I do when a bass picks up my jig, although the pull from the grandkids is stronger than any bass I've caught.
As has been said by Fredfish, welcome to the stage Rabbit. There are no stupid questions especially when it comes to Bass fishing. If you have specific questions about technique, line, how to fish certain baits just ask. As a new member my self I have picked up a lot of information from this site.
J, I'm in the other half of Ohio where they were calling for 8-10 in but last I heard the local radio station was calling for 3-5. The snow is really coming down now.
Thanks, those were great. I just changed the time of day I receive my letter, I need info like this to get my day started.
Sounds good J. I'm really looking forward to getting up presque Isle. Last yr me & my buddy went up a little early. Water was still cold in the bay. My buddy caught a smallie just under 5lb.the wind was howling we elected to not go out in the lake and we struggled for 2 days. Our total was probably 5-6. Then life happens and we never made it back up. I remember going up with a buddy my first time, and the bite was on. We caught them on top water, spinner baits, cranks, drop shop, but that's been 11-12 yrs ago.
