Been there fishing for the big fish with a guide, not a very good one unfortunately. Wasted a lot of time trolling with no bite. Then went to an area where there was a floating marker and caught small mahi. Fishing off Oahu on the west side of the island. Have not tried any areas on the other islands. Can you recommend some good sites in other areas?
Basically these are all in the "swimbait" category. As the name suggest, they imitate a bait that is swimming as all bait that is not artificial does, they swim.
Ya'll talking about me now... Ha, I finally made it to the edge of "oldtimer." Got plenty of stories to tell alright, some are fishing stories as well.
you can call me about anything but just don't call my late for a fish cook out. i been fishing for 60+ years and love it. i always catch something. a cold in the winter or sun burns in the summer.
I would like to hear some good fishing stories from "back in the day"
Always enjoy good fishing stories... even the ones that are not exactly true. Thanks for sharing that. This would be a good header for the group... "fishing stories/tales. Maybe label it "Fish Tales"
Not likely. The captain is responsible for everyone's safety on board. Make sure the captain is aware that you are on your first trip and if he's a good captain (verify credentials and reputation) he will make sure that you are safe onboard. Of course larger boats are always the safer for offshore safety.
