OK. Thank you for the information. What are you fishing with, there?

Most Use minnows there I believe. I’m mostly a jig head.

Yes it has been slow here. Going to Rockville or Waveland Monday so I hope things pick up.

Be looking for your report. Newer to Indy area and haven’t been to either of those yet.

The bite is still on. Several fishers with loaded stringers. Water came up maybe 2 feet overnight and is very clear. Fish seem to be liking smaller baits of white, green, or a combo. Also a variety of fish are active now, including walleye. Hard to walk away from the action but it had to done. Along with the wipers and skips today was a bonus behemoth (for me anyways). Tite lines yall!

How are you so close to the high voltage?? Nice fish!

Interested in 2022 ice fishing reports from Northern Indiana.

Try SPORTSMAN'S WAREHOUSE FORT WAYNE web site. They actually have fishing reports on their site for the local area. I think the DNR has a similar report. Tom, Indy area.

I love to fish with ultralight spinning equipment. There are times when nothing is better for catching crappie and bluegills than a tiny Trout Magnet jig on 2-lb test line. The 2-lb line is necessary; 4-lb test line just won't allow the tiny little baits to be cast any distance at all. But, I have a problem caused by too many birthdays. I can't see the line, can't feel it, and have painful arthritis in both thumbs. Consequently, I am simply unable to tie knots unless the lighting is very good. Today I had tied on a jig in my well-lit shop at home, but broke it off landing a good bluegill. I gave up trying to tie another one on. Does anyone have any suggestions for dealing with this situation?

Make sure that the jig eye is clean. I think jagged paint edges cause trouble. I actually bought a jig eye punch this year because I’ve always used another jig’s hook to punch it through.

I agree, these are great videos. Part two can put you on the water for a little bit of a fishtosterone boost!

This was Cypress Point Resort in Tenn. They got wiped out pretty good. Blue Bank Resort says on FB that they made it through okay.

I would also cut the line. I pulled one aboard and at the base of the tail they have what looks like a shank, if I remember correctly, like a flint spear head, and as I brought it into the boat it stabbed that shank into the boat seat. Which was right by my thigh. So say cut the line.

I failed to ask if you were fishing for steelhead which would call for spoons, spinners or salmon eggs…
