GG,
From the small boat harbor you gotta go to the Canadian line and go west. You may want to launch out of Sturgeon point, or Cattaragus creek. You can get into the deep water quicker. We fish out of Buffalo when the water is 54°-70°. Then follow the fish as they move deeper when the water warms

There you go BB looks like some nice fish and definitely some good eating 😁👍 so what was this new tactic that you was doin to catch these fish 🤔

Whitey,
New tactics= using downriggers to get our presentation down below the suspended active fish. When you mark a school drop the rigger and bounce it off bottom, break it off the clutch and bring the fluttering lure up through the water column and fish. We were hooking up more than 40% of the attempts!

Last day of August. Trying out some new lures, equipment and tactics. Launched out of Cattaragus creek and found the fish suspended 65'-75' in about 90' of water. Put 10 nice fish in the box. Lost 3 at the boat. Tight lines everyone!

Just a beautiful day here in Montana. So bless to be part of it. Great numbers today, just fun fish. Did unbutton a couple monsters though. But as the terminator said, “I’ll be back”. Enjoy pics. Tight lines to all.
Pic 1. Early morning start, no one here. And it remained that way all day

Pic 7. No Lip. Hahaha

What body of water is that JB? We lived in Seeley lake for a number of years and enjoyed fishing that chain of lakes.

Are you keeping those carcasses for fish head soup?

This was at a municipal launch site and fish cleaning station. The guy that was in charge asked us to leave all of the carcass's there for him. I didn't ask why. Would make great bait in a crab trap or bear bait?

I would like to see that hand made spinner. We used to use Erie dearies back in the day

Here's a few. Two need repair as the trailing hook was bit off on both of them. I use 20lb fluorocarbon on these. They were biting on gold or purple that day. Time before they bit on chartreuse or orange.

I know many of you have yards/lawns to maintain, and may be tired of wasting your free time mowing !

Well, here ya go ! First it was
Robo-Vac to clean your house - now you have Robo-Mo to do your lawn
for you ! Just a measly $850.00 !

(But think of the free time you'd
gain to go fishing, instead !)

Hey big A! In the first place you shouldn't have a lawn in Gilbert, AZ! Ever hear of xerascape? Leave the water on the ground and reservoirs! There's only one natural lake in the state. Mormon lake. I caught a pike in it years ago when I lived out there.

Where did you find 51' of water in Lake Erie?

Close to the international line off Sturgeon point. It gets deeper than that!

Nice bunch of fish, BBob, what did you use to get it down that deep, a downrigger? Did you have a spinner ahead of the crawler?

We run 6 poles. 2 bottom bounce with 4oz chugging irons and double blade spinner worm harnesses, 2 with dipsy divers and worm harnesses and 2 with planer boards and weighted deep diving stick baits.
