The white bass run will be on in the next couple of weeks at the dam in Depere. Be careful cause it will be bumper boats. Check in at Smokey’s bait shop at the mouth of the river. Tilkie can tell you the latest

You’ll definitely want to arm yourself with a long handled needle nose pliers. Those toothy critters are sharp

Going after whitebass when the run is on is a great way to try out new things. When they are running they will hit anything. I’ve seen them caught on gum drops, cigarette butts and even a plain gold hook. I was once in the run on the Fox River where I caught fish on every bait I threw.

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum but enjoying all the stories. I'm 72 years young and have been fishing & hunting since I can't remember. I live in northern NJ but grew up on Staten island and still fish Raritan bay both via Lemon Creek and Great kills harbor. I'm looking for some advice & since you all pack a lot of years of fishing experience what better place to ask. :)

My son has a ton of fishing gear, freshwater & saltwater & he's trying to get better organized as I'm sure we all have asked ourselves every so often. he's thinking of buy a tool chest like the ones the mechanics use. Sound son the surface like a good idea but I wonder what you guys think whether thats a good idea or maybe have a better idea. he's saw the following on Facebook market and was thinking of buying it. Any comment are appreciated.
thanks, OldViking
Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum but enjoying ... (show quote)

I think, just from an efficiency aspect, moving baits into and out of the chest for each fishing trip is a lot. Perhaps smaller boxes dividing salt vs fresh, seasonal, top water, crank bait, jig makes prep for each trip easier. I have to admit that I combine all of my baits together in the winter then in spring I get to sort them out into different applications. They are never the same year to year.

Since it’s about fishing I’d guess it’s while driving a boat

I've been having issues with it bogging down on me after 4-5 minutes. I've changed out the fuel lines, new bulb, fuel pump, and fuel filter. it starts as it should, but still boggs down after a bit, so friday i will be putting in a new impeller and a new thermostat to see if it's just an over heating issue. hope so, I'm dying to get out on this spawn.....

I have a 2001 90hp Merc 2 stroke. I had the same problem. Had the stator replaced. Cost about 1200 to get it done since I didn’t know what a stator was.

Looking to fish the east half of the state. Looking for updated report now and then. Will share my experience. Let's get fishing 😜😁🎣🌄

Between Green Bay and the lWinnebago system, you have a lifetime of learning ahead of you. First thing you might consider is the white bass run on the Wolf or Fox River when the lilacs bloom.

Just wondering how many here have had their fish mounted? I never had a fish mounted the main reason I guess is never caught a trophy fish, plus I am cheap. Post a pic of your mounts please.

Didn’t have this mounted but recovered it from a dumpster, cleaned it up and it became the traveling trophy of the brothers annual musky chase. Records are maintained on the back. This pic was in honor of a brother-in-law who was tragically killed on the job. All the sunglasses were his.

Good morning, John. Does your pond have any ice on it? I have never seen Lake Mich. in the Wintertime. I have seen Lake Superior in the Wintertime, but I never paid any attention if it have Ice on it. I will have to ask Brad, he went to School at the Univ. of MN.-Duluth.

No ice on Michigan’s west shore right now. Had some snide the breakwaters in December but January has been too warm. Our January 1st Polar Bear Plunge was balmy and swimmers didn’t have to wade through or over ice. Some are fishing soft water from shore for brown trout

I had luck putting groups of 5 musky baits for sale on Craigslist. I tried showing a display of about 30 baits spread on a table also on Craigslist for $6 each or 5 for $25 mix and match, and received no response, so if you have the time maybe sort your baits into some categories. Good luck

Looking for info for a late summer walleye fishing trip for myself and grand kids. Boat rental and cabins in southern Minnesota or north Wisconsin

Advice about Green Bay is right on especially if you want to hook a monster. East or West side. More civilization on the east side especially Sturgeon Bay. Plenty of VRBO and AirBnB. Boat rental. If you want “smaller” water I’d move to some of the chains in Wi., Minocqua, Manitowish (my personal favorite), or is f you want some wilderness feel, Chippewa Flowage or the Turtle Flambeau.

Anyone know if anything is happening shoreline fishing Lake Michigan in the Milwaukee area? Looking for trout and burbot action.

I checked out the Milwaukee river mouth. About 5 guys fishing using various techniques, no fish. Two guys casting east off the McKinley marina pier past the bend, one with a small zip lure the other a small green and silver spoon. 4 browns between them. Popping the baits off the bottom, hits were on the fall. With this warm weather I’m hoping to get out next week.

Sounds great. My 3 brothers and 1 BIL started doing a weekly fishing trip 1998. We have gone every year. We are told how unusual it is that we can stick together without major issues Enjoy the time, it’ll pass before you know it

Looking to charter a fishing trip 4 to 5 people this spring or early fall on Lake Michigan. We will assemble at my brother's house near Portage Indiana.
Any information you can pass along would be greatly appreciated. If possible try to break down individual costs, as each of us will pay their share of expenses
Thank you
Commander Bell out

On the west side of the lake there are numerous charters. Racine, Milwaukee, port Washington, Sheboygan and further north. Many have web sites where you can research, time of year, species desired, costs and reviews buy previous clients.
