Taking the final 2022 trip to McDonough Friday, before they close the ramp after Labor Day. Taking Dtcombs to show him around and see if he wants to get a season pass next year. Hopefully the low wind forecast is correct, and we can find a few that want to play. We'll hit the normal spots, as well as try for some deep Smallies, and maybe even a Trout.

Good luck, Fred!

Yes, Billy, one of the best weeks we've had up here. Dad started bringing us to this area in 1957 before I was a year old, haven't missed many years since.

Fortunately I don't have to worry about that, OZ. On a good day my max is 18 mph.

Thanks for the pictures. I must say that sounds like a lot of boat for a small lake.

Yeah, reminds me of the movie Second Hand Lions. Old guys put a yacht on their 1 acre pond.

Iowa Farmer? Question is fishing better than farming?

Dbed, at this time I believe the fishing is winning. But I love the farming, too.

Thanks for sharing the pics of your vacation, glad you’re having fun!

Do you really think you’ll catch more fish off that $100,000.00+ pontoon boat? Those folks don’t typically fish, but drag their kids behind on tubes and piss us fisher people off πŸ˜‚

Yes, the skiers started showing up late yesterday, I'm expecting a lot more the rest of the week.

Thanks, Fred! It's about this time of the week I cuss myself for not booking 2 weeks.

Good morning, Myron and family. No wind out there today. Beautiful pictures, thanks for sharing your wonderful time with us. Have a good day.

Thanks, Leo! Really enjoying the pole. Toward the end of the day it's the only one I can use. I didn't know until this week how bad the arthritis is in my wrists.

Another great day on the water. Not a lot of fish, but some nice gills and some small largemouth. Did as much sightseeing as fishing at times drifting a new part of the lake. Saw lots of dollars under canopies. I wish I could afford a brand new tritoon with a 350 horse motor to put on a 950 acre lake! Maybe in my next life. Anyway, here's some pictures from today.

About the same size all day.

See, I told you, same size.

Super nice bluegill. I hope you are not throwing those toothy critters back if you are eating your fish. They are perfect eating size. They are outstanding and provide 5 great boneless filets if cleaned properly. See you tube if you don't know how to do the five filet cleaning.

They are being kept, Bapabear!
