Didn't get out until 10 this morning, wind already strong enough to make a few white caps. Not good for a pontoon. Went to the only cove on this lake and stayed close to shore to avoid the wind. No luck and the wind shifted, so we went around the corner to stay calm.
We were on a wide flat, 3-4 ft deep but at least we could control the toon. Throwing a little bit of everything, when my daughter started picking up nice sunfish with a small crawdad lure. I caught a 2 lb LM and a 20 in Northern on a 2 in black twister tail, and the light pole Flyguy made for me. Those were a blast! Ended up with enough fish for our fry scheduled for tomorrow night.
Went back out this evening and picked up a few more sunfish, some largemouth, including a 19 in 3 lb that I caught (they're getting jealous I'm catching all the big ones.) The catch of the day was the last one, a 3 lb 24 in Northern my middle daughter caught.
Topped the day off with a T-bone steak brought from home. Sorry, forgot to take a picture of that.
Sorry, Leo, to show your pole with a slime dog.
Nice bluegill youngest caught.
Middle daughter's catch of the day.
On the protected flat.
In the middle of the lake.

Good morning, Myron. So glad that you guys a having a good time and I'm glad the rod is catching fish. That ol'slime dog must have really been fun. Did you have a wire leader on?
It's been very windy around here too. I guess the wind is better than wind, rain, and cold.
I'm thinking you are on a lake over by Alexandria, is that right?
You and the family enjoy the vacation and keep us posted with pictures.

Never mind Myron, I saw in another post that you are fishing Lake Ada by Brainard. The lasks in that area get a lot of pressure, I'm glad that you are catching fish. Good for you guys.
Thanks for sharing,IF. Looks like you guys are having a great trip

Good morning, Myron. So glad you and the family are having a good time, and that the rod catches fish. It's been windy around here too. I'm sorry, I forgot, which lake are you fishing? I thought it was one over by Alexandra. The best of luck to you and the family. Enjoy!

No Leo, just a 3/8 jig with 2" twister and a flouro leader. I got lucky!
Thanks guys we're having a great time so far.
Sounds like fun to me. Thanks for the pictures. What was the temperature? I see jackets and hoodies. We’re still three to four months out, if that, from cool weather.
