I am just curious how long each of you work a particular lure or type of bait before changing lures or moving locations. There are times I see plenty of fish on the finder but nothing it taking what I am offering. I was wondering if I am waiting too long to change things up, if I am too quick to switch, or if I making adjustments in line with what others are doing.
Assume I don't have a fish finder, I would cast out different directions. Try a few different spots at the same location, I would change locations in n 20-30 mins tops. Now you have a fish finder, depends how deep they are. I would try something noisy, top water. Deeper definitely soft plastics as others have mentioned.
Lol, hey buddy I'm just outside of Ocean City Maryland. I'm a disabled veteran, can't afford a boat. I fish off the beach or Bayside nothing more or less.
I'm rethinking things myself, the surf fishing and bayside was very slow this winter. I may go ahead and get a fresh water licence early this coming fall. I will CPR, Catch, Photo and Release. Unless things with this virus change. My taste buds, lean towards Saltwater fish :) Spotted trout, flounder, white Perch, Striper's and a couple others.
My apologies, I mostly fish Saltwater.

Any one tried freezing the left over minnows and using them next outing?
I had some I put in the freezer from last fall, also squid strips and finger mullets. A couple months ago I read a good article on salting baits and benefits of doing it. Went to Walmart bought a 40lb bag of Morton's pool salt for a little over 6.00. Haven't had a chance to use them yet.
Ok, I found it by Yeti, in the past I've always went by the water temperature. Waited till it was 55f, then I'd start fishing for them. As of this moment it just hit 50f. I'll give it a shot, I've been wrong before and this won't be the last time :)
That's all I needed to hear ty so much, plus your not to far up north from me.

at night for stripers - absolutely
It's getting close to that time :)
First nice semi warm day, I'm going fishing. I will pick an isolated spot away from People. I really don't think they will bother me. If they ask me to leave or go, I will. Lol, they say surf fishing at night is much better anyway :)
Good morning,
That was a cut and paste from WBAL news, I didn't write that. Here is the link to the article.

If it gets down to this please send me a cyanide pill.
Thing that gets me, I'm at the far bottom right, Worcester.
First they closed the beaches here, but said locals can take walks. I could surf fish, even with a friend but stay 6' across, now this.
The executive order took effect at 8 p.m. Monday.
"This virus is spreading rapidly and exponentially," Hogan said. "We are no longer asking or suggesting that Marylanders stay home, we are directing them to do so."
Anyone who violates the order will be guilty of a misdemeanor that carries a possible sentence of up to one year in prison and/or a fine of up to $5,000.

There must be an outflow of water and bait on the shore. How do I find that site
There are some good YouTube videos, reading the surf. I mostly surf fish if not then Bayside. Reading the surf is easier at low tide. But as you get better at it, in a pinch you can do it at high tide. You will also get an idea how deep it is by the height of the waves.
