First they closed the beaches here, but said locals can take walks. I could surf fish, even with a friend but stay 6' across, now this.

The executive order took effect at 8 p.m. Monday.

"This virus is spreading rapidly and exponentially," Hogan said. "We are no longer asking or suggesting that Marylanders stay home, we are directing them to do so."

Anyone who violates the order will be guilty of a misdemeanor that carries a possible sentence of up to one year in prison and/or a fine of up to $5,000.

How can they put them in a prison and how can they pay a $5000.00 now. The cops that I have talked to earlier, before the virus got real serious, said that they were told not to arrest anyone unless a serious crime had been committed. I certainly don't blame them for not doing it. I wouldn't either.

Just to clear up a misunderstanding, no one is guilty of anything until they are convicted in a court of law. What you meant to write was, "Anyone who violates the order CAN BE CHARGED with a misdemeanor...." etc.

Good morning,
That was a cut and paste from WBAL news, I didn't write that. Here is the link to the article.

I understand and accept that social distancing is necessary. But, the law should be based on logical rationale. No, we don’t want elbow to elbow crowds mixing it up like spring breakers. Well distanced fishermen, beach combers and dog walkers should be accommodated.

FRESH AIR KILLS VIRUSES: Huddling indoors is not fighting the good anti-virus fight. It’s better to fight fire with fire, by getting outside at the height of day to buddy up with a virus’s worst enemy, the sun. The beach and sea offer curative benefits of the highest physical and mental order. Along with known recuperative values of filling lungs with fresh coastal air -- an invigorator of mind, body and antibodies – absorbing sun beams imbues us with Vitamin D, best taken in via as little as 45 minutes beneath a midday sun.

Besides, I don’t think the police are taught how to dodge eight-ounce led sinkers.

First nice semi warm day, I'm going fishing. I will pick an isolated spot away from People. I really don't think they will bother me. If they ask me to leave or go, I will. Lol, they say surf fishing at night is much better anyway :)
