Costco had a nice rod and reel combo with line in their warehouse last week. Looked like a good set up, especially for the price.

Truthfully, I just learned that the new lifePo4 lithium ion Phosphate batteries are by far the cheapest in the long run, but very expensive initially. A deep cycle should only be drawn down to 50% of rated capacity. LifePO4 can be drawn down to 0, Although it is better to not to draw down below 20%. The difference is being able to recharge as many as 4000 times vs 3000. Costco has a good buy right now @ $750 each or two for $1399. They are made by Lion energy, I have two in my RV. If both the deep cycle and lithium batteries are rated at 100 amp hours. You only get 50 amp hours from a deep cycle without risking damage. I ruined 2 AGM deep cycle batteries in one summer. ( hard lesson)They are half the weight of deep cycle batteries, at 23#. Battle-born LifePO4 batteries are one of the highest rated.

50 amps- At 9 ft requires 4 gauge. 14.5 feet requires 2 gauge. According to the guide I use for 12 volt. You can use smaller wire, but the resistance creates heat and isn’t as efficient as a larger wire.

I mentioned batterycablesusa.com, because they make up cable to size and use high quality copper wire and tinned copper for watercraft.

batterycablesusa.com can make up jumper or battery cables with lugs or anderson connectors. The anderson connectors they offer carry up to 280 amps. Depending on the total length of run, you might get by with 4 gauge. You can get a marry the 10 gauge wire and 4 gauge (if you need that big) together with the anderson connector and use butt splices between the existing wire. The benefits are ease of installation and you can disconnect the anderson connectors.

Here is one reason why I carry a hand gun. Two weeks ago a turkey hunter was supposed to meet his friends in a town called Liberty. About 15 miles from home. He never made it and a subject of interest was seen driving his vehicle. There has been a man hunt everyday since and he is believed to have broke into a house about a mile from my house this week. Whoever broke in to the house, stole a gun, food and clothing. Keeping the doors locked and the guns loaded. Russ

I can help you, but I need to know if your going to just extend the wire or start new. And the total length of the wire when the job is completed.

Nice Walleye Hooker fish. Moses lake is about an hour and a half away. Been there many times, but I haven’t caught anything near that nice.

Good afternoon, were you fishing the potholes to Moses Lake? Two of my favorites.
