I agree but would rather catch ten bass than I would a hundred carp in a day.
I guess it is the challenge and that thousand casts that makes it all worthwhile.
I agree with you about watching that bobber......just something about it dancing all over the surface of the water.
My 8’ 4wt. Tom Morgan Favorite by Winston.I use it for all my trout fishing and a G Loomis 9’ 9wt. GL 3 for saltwater species.

You got that right.....have seen it a hundred times and when it happens I still get excited.
Who said bass are easy to catch....they are so unpredictable and day to day vary in what they want to eat.
They truly are America’s game fish.
How do you plan on fishing? There are many ways to fish the bay, trolling, chumming, casting artificials, bottom fishing.
Fly fishing can only be done in fairly shallow water with sink tip lines, for the most part with saltwater flies like Clouser Minnows,Deceivers, etc.etc.
Fly Fishing is also my favorite way to fish for trout and some saltwater species, but largemouth and smallies still hold a special place in my heart.I fished many a bass tournament and did well.I forgot more about bass fishing than most fishermen know.....still love catching them though.
This is true.....smalles are my favorite fish to catch. We have a good population of them in the Susquehanna River and catch them on tubes and stick baits.
LMB are aggressive but sometimes hard to catch and figure out.I have been fishing for them for over 65 years and still enjoy the excitement of a top water strike....beats all other fishing.
Tubes and the Float&Fly would be my choice for the Smallies
