Thank you. Yeah, I don’t want to scratch it and I have a fiberglass canoe I take instead.

Posted pics Roaldo. I’ve been to Wingdale a few times. To the antique airplane museum and the flea market. Nice part of the country!

That is some sense of humor Mr. Smokypig. It’s lighter than new canoes. You can get parts for it or in worse case make them. Thanks for the offer but I will respectably turn it down unless you can get here some Sunday during the week.

When I was 6 years old my father brought home a wooden canoe. I was excited to see it and asked him when we could put it in the water. “We can’t he explained, it needs new canvas, someday we’ll fix it.He hung it on the inside of the garage with clothesline rope. And there it stayed. Year after year I would ask him if we could fix it. His answer was always “someday we will.” I finally gave up asking.....44 years later he left it to me in his will. I took it down from the garage and wondered if it was an Old Town. I called the factory in Maine and they told me that if it was, there would be a number on the inside of the bow. I found the number and they emailed me the original work order. It is a Carlton model that was made in 1912. I had the canoe restored and painted the original green. The restorer was surprised that it was hung by a rope and never warped.
I’ve included some pictures of the completed restoration of the canoe hanging (on a rack) in my garage. It’s been a few years and I still haven’t put it in the water.
Maybe someday MY son will.

Wow. Very heartwarming story! I’m glad I asked and thanks for answering. I’m a Yankee fan and I felt like I was there when I read your story. Thanks again
I’m with you as far as mother in laws. She passed last year at 90. A wonderful woman who never had a headache (she had no idea what they felt like) or gave me one either!

Bought a Penn Fierce 11. Ugly isn’t that ugly considering it’s age.
Spirit of 27?
Not 27 years old
Not 93 years old.
What’s the meaning of your name?

This state has great fish. Try and get to it. Scouted Boggs pond in Danbury today. Found a spot and the sign said I needed permission from the water dept.
I’m going to get a tshirt that days “ I know I can’t fish here.”
