Hello fellow fishermen and women! A friend and I are starting to do some fishing. I would like to know where the Ct. hot spots are, where are folks having good luck and what are they using for bait? No boat so we have to fish from shore.

Not sure where you are in Ct. I’m in southwestern Ct. Yhe state of ct has a book out on its river and streams that lists the species and density of the fish. Lake Mananasco In Ridgefield is crawling with crappies. Excellent fishing everywhere in Ct. problem is most of it is landlocked. I have a friend that fishes a golf course lake. He brings yard tools so that everyone thinks he works there and is taking a break.
If you see a young kid with a pole ask him. I’ve hired guides only to discover that the young kids in the area put me on the fish more accurately.
Not sure if I can say this here but there’s an app called Fishbrain where local fisherman post their catches, lakes and lures. I’m headed for a lake in Danbury that someone posted. Also great if you’re traveling.

Can't help you much Magala, there's not a lot of shore access in freshwater. The usual places like Black Rock state park. Lake Waramaug, and the ponds in the Community Fishing Waters Program. You should pick up a copy of the 2020Fishing Guide. There's lots of information in there. As far as hot spots, local tackle shops are your best source of up to date info. Tight Lines. Fred

Thanks Mauwehu, you too. I love your buddy's golf course scam, it's brilliant!

Yeah, there's not a lot of shore access that's not crowded. There's a few unused backup reservoirs where the fish gotta be stupid!! Never seen any lure, ever!!!! They keep saying that they're gonna open some up,but they never do.
