Nice bait Hooker, but they look like Bluegill, Sunfish and a couple Black Crappie to me. Am I missing something, I don't see a Perch in the bunch?

Maybe in your part of the world it is not common to refer to all the sun fish family as perch but being from Texas that is what we do. It is usually stated as “sun perch”. Can’t speak for the rest of the the country. LOL

I just hope you all do not get taken in by the PC policemen. Don't you know that in the day and time it is not a Black and Tan Coon hound but a Black and Tan Racoon hound.?? LOL

Enjoyed many good times with my Uncle and his hounds hunting coons. He was my Uncle by marriage but he had two brothers that also owned hounds and we hunted quite often. I was always chosen to climb the tree and shake the coon out. Boy were those days great fun.

I have a resident sparrow hawk that stays around my house and keeps the squirrel population in check.
Sometime the hawk wins an sometime the squirrel wins so I guess it balances out in the end.

It is interesting to watch the encounters.

Very cool. What are your plans for the prop? I have a 10” x 5” on my 9.9hp pushing a 16’ pontoon. Top speed about 5mph. Idles like a trolling motor.

Will use the original prop that came on the 1962 5.5hp evinrude. It is a two blade prop. Don’t know the pitch

Run a long piece of silicone tubing to put exhaust under water level to quiet it down. Exhaust is supposed to either be under water or have water pumped up to it for fire suppression especially in moorage areas by law.

I have looked at several site on line and have not found a great deal about exhaust systems regulations on exhaust systems. Can you direct me to where I can find the regulations you referred too.? That would be helpful.

just wear electronic eargear. probably works good. could use some sort of foot pedal for throttle or just move trigger from weedeater application.

This is a four cycle engine so it does not have the high pitched whine that a two cycle has. RPM is no where near a 2 cycle and muffler is good. I am using the original steering arm for speed control and steering. I am sure there will be more things that come up I will have to address but it keeps me out of the partly closed bars.

Looking at it again, you may want to add a simple brace in the back from the engine mounting bolt to the lower unit bolt to triangulate it and stiffen it up for vibration.

So far I am not feeling or seeing any vibrations but will keep that in mind

That I will check out. Where will I find that written? I see leaf blowers used around the marina often and power washers
