Always heard bluegill bed when the cottonwood trees go to seed. Don’t know how accurate that is.

I have heard something similar...the crappie bite is on when the dogwoods bloom.

Desperately trying to get my boat ready for a little better weather. About 2/3's finished rewiring the entire boat after installing a new motor. Guess where my tax return went? lol

I have fished many an opener there. For daytime fishing follow the baitfish on wind driven shores. Jig and shiner always worked for m.

Hi I’m looking for fishing reports and general information about fish species in the lakes in and around Warsaw Indiana. In particular any information on the Barbee chain of lakes would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Here is a good place to start. If your looking for a partner I live on Wawasee.

I checked out google maps like you said and you are right, those empty channels of my youth have homes and what looks like garages on them, we used to take our rowboat down main channel and over try o Syracuse lake to. Two kids in a 12’ boat with a 9.9 Johnson could cover a lot of water before it was time to go home. Good times

Still good times just a little more crowded. By the way, enough ice to fish from for a change. Conklin Bay!

Hahaha He's a grinner 😁 congrats. Young ones are a joy aren't they 🤗. Kids took them to see Disney on ice last Saturday. I had to work on my tractor so I didn't get to go 😏
Hazel is 22 months an Luna is 7 years old. They had a blast 🤗

Nothing melts your heart faster than a kids smile.

We had a cabin cruiser on wawasee my whole youth, dad wasn’t interested in fishing but when we did try we slayed the bluegills, my brother and I had a 12’ fishing boat later on and we did well in the channels of Enchanted Hills.
That was forty years ago and I imagine those channels are filled with houses now, good luck

Check out the lake on google earth and you will see there the entire shoreline is filled with housing now. I live on the channel between Wawasee and Syracuse.

Hey Larry, just wanted to say hey. I was born in Elkhart, lived in Syracuse, Nappanee and Milford. Ice skated and ice fished with my Granny Barb Wooten, on Lake Wawasee when I was a kid many times. My mom used to rent a duplex from The Bartows. 🥰 I know this is for fishing stuff but I just got tickled when I saw where you lived. I'm in Florida now, since I was 7, 52 years old now, LOL, Mom hated the snow😔 But I'm a Hoosier Forever. 🙏Happy Fishing 🎣 🎣

I have lived here about 10 years now. I grew up in South Dakota and am very familiar with walleye fishing on the water and the ice. I have a small boat that is perfect for fishing Wawasee.
