I'm right handed Use a left handed bait caster. Find it easier for flipping and pitching The thumb on the reel. Then a quick hand To the crank for getting in that bite on the drop. Without having to switch hands. But that's me You do you get tight lines

Been a meatcutter for 50 years. I have a 10 " Forchner that I've had 40 some years that's only been on a stone twice. I only use a diamond steel then a ceramic steel. And it's razor sharp to this day it's stiff and wide for going through bones like an electric .then use a flexible to take out rib bones. The moral of this story is store your knife in leather or wood never in a drawer or tray keep the factory edge don't mess it up on stones or grinders unless you can keep perfect angle on BOTH sides. I use my knives often pizza to beef and can bring the edge back every time with a ceramic or diamond then ceramic steel.
