Cool.
I see on the first picture posted there is a pink spoon hence the confusion regard drifting yarn in the sound.
I’m headed to deception pass state park 10/6 - 10/8 and was going to shore fish for coho and any pink that may still be around.
I’ve spoons to throw so I’ll try my luck with those.
Is Kokanee fishing similar to trolling for sockeye?
I’m pretty sure I’ve all the gear to fish Kokanee, between dodgers, hoochies, flashers, down riggers, etc….
Just have to figure out how to find them on my old Garmin GPSMAP 540C.
Thank you for the info on drifting yarn. Similar to how people do it on the rivers?
X foot long leader off a three way swivel with the bottom swivel to a weight and the other swivel to main line?
What about spoons and other lures like buzz bombs?
Thank you.
If you’re willing to share, how do you shore fish for salmon? I’m a primarily river fisher, so any tips on lure, type, size, etc… would be immensely appreciated.
Thank you!
I’m going to have to learn how to fish for Kokanee.
Fishes there today. Had NO IDEA about the isportsman pass system. JBLM did an absolutely terrible job of implementing this system.
Spoke to a WDFW employee who stated the JBLM isportsman enforcement team does not have the authority to confiscate fish.
Zero coordination between agencies.
JBLM doesn’t own the water, so if you put in up river, hop off on the .mil side to shore fish, and they try and enforce their rules, take a couple steps back into the water.
It’s my understanding the nets are out Su, Mo, Tu, hence the closure for recreational fishing/non-native American fishing.
They probably have but it’s not open until 8/16.

There are several chargers that run out of all of those places, especially Edmonds.
I do not have any personal recommendations, but here are some links to some I found via Google:

(Cut plug was featured in the Seattle Times)
Seeing as you’re able to fish a weekday, they should have openings for both full and half day.
There are no public marinas on Lake Sammamish.
The public boat launch is on the south end and I believe Vasa Resort is also a launch option on the NW part of the lake.
All docks on the lake are private, but you can fish around and under them.
I have heard running flashers off the downrigger ball is a way to get the sockeye to party!
😂😂😂
Thanks for the info
Howdy folks!
Are there still any sockeye left in Baker Lake or did y’all catch ‘em all?
I’m heading out Saturday and Sunday.
Any tips?
Appreciate it!
You’re welcome! Be ready for “combat fishing” at its finest!
Here’s the reg for the Puyallup (screen cap from the Fish WA app).
No “bonus pinks”.
Adult limit is four.
When the river opens for salmon fishing per WDFW regs, 16 August if I recall.
They run pretty strong for 2-4 weeks.
All time of the day, especially strong after some rain.
Limit is four.
Awesome, thank you.
I’ll let ya know how it goes!
