Hey Karla- I missed this post until today (Monday)...Welcome to the group... Did you have any luck? I went out Oct. 20 to Point No Point in MD and it was sparse, but all 6 got their 2 fish limit (limit 1 in VA!) Yesterday I went down to Windmill point by car and only saw one boat fishing. Water is still 62-63 degrees
I went out Thursday with Capt. Ryan on the Midnight Sun out of Smith Point. He took us to Point No Point in Md. where we all caught our limit- 2 in Md. Beautiful day!
Fisherguys-
I purchased about four trolling rods and reels along with a 1986 Mako CC about 10 years ago...Stopped using them when the Mako went south a few years back. I now have a Parker 2320 and am getting ready for striper (rockfish) season and am wondering if I am looking for trouble if I do more than rinse them off and oil the outside points, as I have done in the past? A few I have had out this summer seem to be performing ok. Any comments are welcome!

Hello, Mike, welcome to you.just checking to see how close you are to me.
I am 5 hours from Philly. After I replied I saw you are near Gettysburg. That won’t work. Good luck!
Is anyone hitting any mackerel in the Chesapeake anywhere near Windmill Point, Virginia?
Thanks
Mike Frizell
I could use a buddy, but can't guarantee a wealth of knowledge. I'm retired too, have a seaworthy 23' Parker, been FISHING (not always CATCHING :-)) the Chesapeake for some years, I am now in the area of the mouth of the Rappahannock. Blues are active right now, looking for Spanish Mackerel. In fact my next post will be seeking info on the Macs
