Fisherguys-
I purchased about four trolling rods and reels along with a 1986 Mako CC about 10 years ago...Stopped using them when the Mako went south a few years back. I now have a Parker 2320 and am getting ready for striper (rockfish) season and am wondering if I am looking for trouble if I do more than rinse them off and oil the outside points, as I have done in the past? A few I have had out this summer seem to be performing ok. Any comments are welcome!

They should get an over haul. What can it hurt? What can it hurt if you don't??

I would take them out and test them before thinking about an overhaul, you'll know for sure after that

Never if you clean them and use WD 40 on them. Have some Penn Internationals that are 30+ years old & work like the way I bought them, they are all blueprinted

Hi Star, you have four. Take one apart to learn it. Rehab. Nothing to lose. Bright light, large work area. Might be fun.
