Shrimp work but little fish eat way to much of it..
I fish anclote in a small boat..i average 15 fish a trip..some up to five pounds. Mostly trout. I use a gator 1/4 oz. Gold spoon..or a popping cork with a small 1/10 th. Jig head with a paddle tail..the popping cork works great on the pier as well..if you spot me say hello..my boat is a small seafoam green whaly..cant miss it..
Just watch out for shallows and rocks..
Come up to Anclote. I caught 35 fish today. Many of the trout were 18” all with a gator 1/4 oz gold spoon..
I did not see any in anclote on monday..
I grew up going out on the boats at sheepshead bay..
As a kid i fished all over tampa bay. I moved to CA. In 1987 and fished bass mostly and some trout fish in NV. Now that i am back i fish my home waters in anclote..just love the trout in this area. I have a small boat a whaly 370 with a 15 HP merk..i want to go out in the gulf more and get some gags…but the trout fishing is so good i just cant leave it..

Fred howard island. The 2nd bridge. Use a live shrimp on a 1/8 oz. Jig head. Lots of fish here..trout reds and yellow tail.
