those ponds look to be in great shape, may I ask what's in them? Ours have bream and flathead catfish (which was a HUGE mistake, throw flats into your pond it doesn't matter How much bait fish are there pretty damned soon all you have are flats. Which is fine I guess, but it sucks paying 1,000 dollars every spring to put bream into the ponds only to know 95% plus are going to end up as kitty food)

We stocked the larger pond with Bream the first year after its construction. Following year Largemouth bass (not sure what type) and Grass Carp.
We wait a year before stocking with bass to give the Bream a chance to get establish.

The small ponds have been here for a long time before us.

All three ponds have Largemouth, Carp and Pearch. Don’t know how Pearch got into the big pond that we made.

I’ve seen the carp in the two small ponds swimming along the dam. Three feet at lease!

@PapaJack
Practice makes perfect.
Good advice.
I’m doing the same, changing different pound line, lures etc.

Fished from 5 30am till about 11am. Bass were very spotty. Found most of them in the shoals about 15 foot deep. Caught them on deep water cranks and big swim baits. Bite slowed way down around 10am. Brim were scooling everywhere. Caught a few on a swim bait on accident. I will do a report on the bass in this lake for everyone. Every Sunday from here out.

Just retired and move to Quitman to be with and help my dad on the farm.
I just fish the farm ponds, but will enjoy your reports on Greers Ferry.
Thanks.

Thanks for the reply 👍
The smallest pond (1/2 acre +-) needs some maintenance to remove water plants and trees to get more sunlight on the water.
I can catch fish regularly, but they are small. Still fun with light tackle.
