Seriously, those look like scissors for toddlers and wouldn’t cut paper let alone braid! Convince me. Video them cutting braided line and post it.
Found the Jonard scissors. Ebay and Amazon $17-$35.
I spent an hour trying to find these to buy with no luck. Made phone calls and searched the internet. Went to their website and tried to call some of the companies listed, no luck. Any ideas?
Don’t misunderstand me. Some work better than others but NONE make that clean close cut every time. Nature of braided line. I have a “special braid scissors” from Rapala, won’t cut braid at all! Cheap $4 braid scissors from Salt Strong do good job, MOST OF THE TIME on braid and ALWAYS on mono or fluoro. Stretch the braid tight (tension) is more important than anything!
There is NOTHING that does the job like we want it to. The best serrated braid scissors only work when the braid is pulled tight and then occasionally they still fail to completely sever braid when it is small diameter like 10 lb. Price we pay for a high tech no stretch line.
Carolina Outdoor Journal just had a show from Lake Sutton. They caught nice bass out in the middle watching for bass feeding on schools of shad. They cast topwater plugs, and fished a jerk shad (fluke) on a worm hook. I am sure a crank bait in a shad imitation would work also. They said there was a new boat ramp. Let me know how it goes. This show was in November. Tough fishing now but spring is almost here. Water should start warming in a couple of weeks. Oh, clear water so it dictates light line, 10 lb braid, and 10 lb fluro leader.
It is GOLFISH not goldfish. The words golf and fish but only one f. Don’t worry it happens weekly.😂 I live in Southern Pines and fish out of Old Ferry Marina at Sneads Ferry where my boat is located. I fished the Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach area starting in 1969 but only saltwater with the occasional trip up the Cape Fear River for stripers. Over the years I have become friends with several locals and they would tell me stories of the bass fishing on Lake Waccamaw. They treated it just like saltwater. Find the bait, catch it with a cast net and then slow troll. Unbelievable results! Another fishing adventure was for shad below a dam somewhere close which I can’t remember but how many dams could there be close to Wilmington on a river! Also lived there in the early 90’s.
Waccamaw Lake, live bait. Know that it will probably be windy and nowhere to hide.
This is why I think MLF is a better representation than B.A.S.S. Every fish caught should count not just the biggest! Like your style guys. Somebody needs to help Mr 18!😂
Too many variables to answer that intelligently. Water input, chemicals, food supply, seasonal fluctuation, bottom composure, available spawning area, predators, and the list goes on but you see my point.
Leave 3 at the dock. Sorry, couldn’t help myself!
Salt Strong is one of the best sites for backwater fishing! What few things they sale are top quality and as good a price as you will find. If you are a young person or just starting your fishing career you should by all means join the “club”. It will be the best $9 or so per month you could spend. I am almost 70 and have forgot enough to write a book. Experience is a great teacher and nothing replaces time on the water.
Who the hell wants music/noise while fishing or playing golf? Absolutely no earthly reason except they are afraid to be alone with their own thoughts. Here’s a thought for those that want noise because they are afraid of their own thoughts: “Be still and know that I AM God.”
Good one Randy Hartford. I am a dad who loves most to fish with his son and now, grandkids, all 5 of them.👍
Only one choice! Roland Martin, maybe Rick Clunn or Bill Dance, possible Shaw Grigsby but Al Lindner or Jerry McKenna would be alright. Then there is Jose that salt water guy whose last name I can’t remember and George P whose last name i can’t spell.
