Welcome to the Forum, David. Well,,,,,,, you just come on board and you come up with a super question like that. It's a good one and one that I will be interested to see the answers to. I have tried expensive scissors, cheap scissors, expensive toenail clippers, cheap toenail clippers, The best that I have found is a cheap little knipper that I push together with my fingers. I haven't had it very long and I would imagine it will dull like the rest of them. Any thoughts on this question guys and gals?

Smokers can touch the lit cig to the desired cut location. It will sear the end and prevent unraveling too.

Can't use it myself; I quit in 1971.

There is NOTHING that does the job like we want it to. The best serrated braid scissors only work when the braid is pulled tight and then occasionally they still fail to completely sever braid when it is small diameter like 10 lb. Price we pay for a high tech no stretch line.

Just the other day I picked up a scissor for braid cutting in my local bait shop. Name on the scissor is Sea Striker.

Works great for cutting braid and mono.

Don’t misunderstand me. Some work better than others but NONE make that clean close cut every time. Nature of braided line. I have a “special braid scissors” from Rapala, won’t cut braid at all! Cheap $4 braid scissors from Salt Strong do good job, MOST OF THE TIME on braid and ALWAYS on mono or fluoro. Stretch the braid tight (tension) is more important than anything!

I have used Fisker scissors successfully. Get the smaller fingernail size.

I spent an hour trying to find these to buy with no luck. Made phone calls and searched the internet. Went to their website and tried to call some of the companies listed, no luck. Any ideas?

Best that I have found is a pair of FISKARS mini shears. A close second is just a good sharp pocket knife. I carry the knife while fishing and use the shears when I am doing stuff at home. The knife is handier because it has a pocket clip, so I always know where it is. I just use a cheap one, because I just know that the one that I would drop over the side of the boat would be one of my expensive ones. A good $15 knife will do everything you need it to do, including hook removal from fingers, ask me how I know that.
