Very busy day on the water at Lake Guntersville today. More boat traffic than Iāve ever seen in one day. But a good day of fishing. I caught 1 largemouth and two smallmouth bass and my son caught a respectable 12ā Crappie.
A friend caught the bass last Friday. He only caught one fish all day. I told him itās because he didnāt take me with him. I had to work Friday and he was punished for going without me! Ha, Ha.
I crossed the Coosa River yesterday near sunset and then drove the riverfront in Gadsden last night. The river was a beautiful sight and you could hear her singing.
Generally crank bait works great for large mouth. Crappie jigs for crappie of course. I also use frogs for top water and some rubber worms on a weedless set up.

Lake Guntersville on the Tennessee River. 96,000 acres of navigable water. Itās fairly clean but there a a lot cleaner lakes near me as well
Bass are on the bite and the lower temperature has them more active now.
And thatās why we call it fishing, not catching. Good luck
Awesome! And great catch guys! Love seeing the young guys out there finishing.
Well we lost power at 0300 and Iām still running my house on the generator. Just started raining again. 3rd round. We got 6ā in 3 hours over night in Cleveland AL. Not looking good for Cullmanās car cruise tonight. But I bet the fish love this weather!
We were able to get about 5.5 hour in today before the storm hit. The lake was like glass at 0600 this morning and the fish were not really active. Finally got on a few large mouth. Only got one it the boat today but it was better fishing than cutting grass. Right!
At Lake Guntersville If you use the Hwy 69 boat ramp on the ball field side a new floating dock has been installed and it is extremely nice.
I have a Garman Striker Vivid 5C. Works great and perfect size for a yak. Best for the $$ too.
