After sanding, vacuum with a ‘horsehair’ brush before applying the paint. If more than one coat of paint, light sanding with a fine grit block, vacuum then repaint.

My dad and I would catch blues on artificial eels, nothing more than ‘surgical’ tubing he called it. With a hook running out of it and some light wire leader, it would spin and work pretty well. Fished them on planers, not too fast. Real simple to try.

Get yourself a chum bag and sink a can of sardines cracked open or a can of perforated frozen dog food. Anything to act as an attractant. Tie off your bag to withstand a turtle attack.
