Big seas and big fish continue on the beaches of Cape Cod. Sadly, when the water cools to 50°, the fish will migrate south to warmer waters. Then my long winter wait will begin.
Wearing waders but not walking out past my knees. The surf has been high - 4-5 ft. rollers
Fishing with 2 oz. white bucktail jigs late afternoon into dusk continues to be a winning combination off of famous Nauset Beach in Cape Cod, MA.
Headed to Nauset Beach now to do some surfcasting.
350 feet of wire line and a 3 ounce jig. trolling speed was under 2 mph. 44 feet of water.
Can you see it now? Not in a swimming pool.

Catching fish off the Nauset inlet. We marked no fewer than 15 separate schools of the fish. We caught four, including a fat 31 inch fish.
Launched in town Cove and went out through Nauset inlet. Marked no fewer than 15 separate schools of large stripers. Caught 4, including this tasty 31” fish.
With all the big blues and other toothie critters, I am using 18 inch blood red wire leaders. They don’t discourage hits, they actually encourage them! Best of luck.
