2nd people there are unbelievably rude as heck. I was all the way to the end and these two people had like 6 rods on one side and the other side they had that locked down when i got there i had brought my cart close to me the dude said your cart needs to be behind the line. Well im disabled and i was just trying to set up quickly so i wouldnt have to walk back and forth. Well the guy there on his golf cart was pretty rude. Then they saw some fish feeding right under me and what do you know they were all over top of me i had to reel my stuff in. They are lucky i was nice about it cause if it were a long time ago ii wouldnt have been so nice

Oh Gator, I hated hearing this and apologize for this rude behavior. In addition I am sorry the fishing was slow. Then once it picked up they crowded you like that, it is just wrong. I always give people plenty of room and never encroach them no matter how good the fish biting gets for anyone. Not everyone are jerks on the Outer Banks. If I use a pier most of the time I get a spot close to the shore just beyond the breaking waves. I have better luck there and that is why I usually surf cast. If you ever come back I sure hope you have a much better experience.

MM2 I wa reading about Jennettes pier. They have all kinds of rules n do's n don't s. All the small motels gone. The locals was always friendly. I remember when I could walk the beach for a couple miles n only seen couple people. Last time down there we came home with a busted up front-end. A woman decided to make a right turn in front of me. $3,500 in damage. She was un straight through left turn lane. It's definitely for the rich. 👍

What an awful experience and I am so sorry it happened to you Grizz. Things have changed a great deal over the years. Most everyone are down to earth and not at all wealthy. Many of the people there are vacationers and not the locals. Although some locals are nasty to visitors which is upsetting to the rest of us. Finding a place to stay is tough and has unfortunately become very pricey.

I am in the next town up from there but I have not heard of any big Blues getting active. However, I was on the beach Saturday in Kitty Hawk and twice I saw a flock of Sea Gulls swarming up near the surf. The bait fish were jumping and I think I did see one Blue jump but it could have been another fish. On Sunday in Kill Devil Hills I never saw that happen again.

How could I have forgotten about Boars Head brand of beef Frank's. This summer I had the fine pleasure of consuming a couple if these delicious dogs with Mustard, Onions, and Chili. They were so good it made my leg wiggle.

Norfolk. We’re you a Navy vet? Thanks for your kind words. Not everyone felt that way 52yrs ago. That’s ok. Different time, different war, different view point. I really like Skyline Chili dogs. Mustard, onion, sauce, soft bun, cheese piled high. You have to use a fork!! Great dog, but nooooo ketchup!! Best to you and yours.

I wish that I had the honor to be a vet but I never served. President Nixon did a lottery draft my senior year and my number came up high which made it unlikely I would get called up. One of my brothers was drafted into the Marines and he told me I wasn't volunteering. I wanted to especially after seeing him complete boot camp. I feel I missed something big and regret it.
Lots of Navy all around us. I lived in a neighboring city just a few minutes away from Tony's. I remember the disgraceful reception our wonderful vets received and it sickened me. You deserve all that praise and so much more, I am proud of all our vets.
That dog sounds incredible and of course no ketchup.

I like that...my siblings and I pronounced it exactly that way and we thought it was right. We were not the brightest bulbs on the string of lights. My older brother took care to scrap off the letters mus on the label leaving the tard on. We thought we had a dirty word displayed on that jar and would laugh our heads off every time it was brought out. Well, once we had some company over and remember fearing they would see our inside joke when that jar was put out on the table. We kept turning it to try and hide our dirty work...obviously, we were easily entertained.

Okay, I have another hotdog story..I am running on empty though ! Back before I married my bride in 1974, I would pick her up from her after school job at a local pharmacy. She worked the lunch counter, yes they used to have those. On the counter they had this rotisserie inside a glass container that held many hot dogs rotating like a Ferris Wheel. As she closed up and cleaned the cooking area up, she would unload those dogs out of the cooker. The ones that had been orbiting the longest would be wrinkled slightly and rather dried out. Those were the best dang dogs ever. I would take her home and hang out a while with her parents. She had a mixed breed dog that feasted on those long cooked frank's. Of course I would intercept a couple to the dismay of her dog. I would squirt a bit of mustard on them but the dog wanted his plain. Yep, it was a different time but still a dog eat dog world. In 75 on July 4th, we tied the knot and it still hasn't frayed.

Many years ago, a co-worker told me he was going to stop for lunch at 7-11 and get a gut grenade. So, I had to ask and it was a Hot Dog he was referring to. I do not recall which condiments he applied. He was right about that grenade tag. I had experienced some explosive aftermath with them myself. Come to think of it, I am sure he used mustard on that dog !

Oh I know, I hate to disappoint but I must maintain my integrity. My dad used to grow peppers of several types. Even picking them off the plant would make your fingertips burn. I think Johnny Cash tried some and the following day he was inspired to write A Ring Of Fire...Not a true sorry on Mr. Cash, May God bless his soul.

what ever happen to catfish hunter did he get de-platformed? any way I bet this one is not as controversial as his was....well maybe the ketchup debate is as controversial just not as heated unless you put some ghost peppers in it but I haven't heard anyone suggest that here....yet, but you never know with them southern boys they seem to like them hot peppers like those Carolina Reapers with a SHU of 1.6 million and my tender NW tongue can't even take jalapeño's with a SHU of 2500-8,000 and prefer banana peppers with a SHU 0f 0-500

I like peppers but I have not ever tried putting any on a hotdog. I am a light weight when it comes to the really hot ones though.

First, thank you for your service, I mean that with all my heart. I appreciate it so very much. I respect every vet with the highest degree.
Those are great choices of dogs. I remember this little stand in downtown Norfolk, VA, Tony' s. He served I believe were Hormel and they were slender and popped when you bit into them, those were awesomely good. He put his kids through college with that business and it was all business. You were welcomed to sit at that counter as long as you were chewing. Once you were done he wanted you out and would let you know. Never asked about French fries, he would tell you to go to McDonald's. His slogan was often imitated but never duplicated..the menu was very limited.

Catfish Hunter had 34 and gh1 says he had a 37 page some time back. Maybe this post will take a bite at the record.

Wow, 37 is a whopper.( wrong sandwich) I mean is Top Dog, and will be tough to surpass. I am trying to get us up there. With that said, I really like my dog slow cooked on a griddle or grill with those beautiful black stripes. As a kid most of the time they were boiled like in the school cafeteria. So, more stuff to hear preferences on. Either method, I still prefer mustard on mine.

well hot diggity dog maybe we will reach a record number of pages whatever that is, and this post will be the wiener for longest ramblings without rumbling. Of course, we all know why one has to put so many toping on hot dogs, because we know what all goes in them. May be all beef, pork, chicken, or turkey (haven't heard of fish hot dog yet) but the question is what part of these dead animals get ground up and stuffed into the casing? it sure is not the best and tastiest part of the animal, and maybe only fit for a dog to eat unless you smother it in ketchup, mustard, chili, onions, peppers and anything else that will make it more eatable. so maybe the question shouldn't be what do you put on the hot dog but Why do you have to?
well hot diggity dog maybe we will reach a record ... (show quote)

You make a very good point and I know the answer to the parts thrown into a dog would likely disturb me. So for me, the Hot Dog is much like watching a magic show. I know what I saw was not what it appeared to be and I was fooled. However, learning the secret would completely spoil the fun. I do not want to know. If they could package the moo of the cow, they would. Anyone ever see the film Sling Blade ? Not that I ever liked potted meat, but I could never try it.
