Yes two Hatcheries have shut down, I think black Rock and fish springs. Wll be fishing wherever we can find fish, creeks, sand traps and lakes. Only have four days this trip. I hope the four kids going do good. I might stay a little longer to fish a bit more by myself. Will see how it goes.

Wow! My first post. We, husband n I, had a blast fishing this whole area. Streams, lakes, pockets on side of roads… woo hoo this was a catching trip

That's a nice size trout. You said this was at Tom's place, where exactly? Can I guess rock creek lake? I fish from lone pine to mammoth. So many areas to explore and fish it takes more than a lifetime to see them all. The sand traps and streams I like to fish the most. Going with the family in three weeks to mammoth. I hope to do as well.

Any Fishing report on eastern Sierra (ca.)

It was a great opener. My friend was there and kept me posted daily on his entire week. On his way up he stopped at diez lake in lone pine and stopped after 70 plus fish, all small thought.
Crowley yielded him cutthroat, brown and rainbows. Upper ownes was good along with bishop creek. All taken on Flys from the shore.
I'm going June 18 for five days and I hope I can do as well.

My friend was in the Eastern Sierras for a week starting opening day. Fly fishing was at its best on Crowley on down to lone pine. Browns, cutthroat and rainbows, all on Flys.
I'll be going next month to mammoth for 4 days.
I hope to do as well.

That's a great score. I just purchased a new road bike and $ 50. Got me the bottle holder.

Yes, I remember swamis I could hardly raise my arms up on that paddle out but it's a great right.
Old man's got way too crowded for me so I stopped going. I don't go anymore as well. I gave my boards to my Son that lives in Chula Vista.
It's nice to see another surfer on the forum.

I never heard it called garbage but mose likely have. Is it at the south end of the road just before it turns left? There is a small sand beach about 3 to 400 yards south. Either way I love the brake there, Slow and long. I'm 68 years old so don't get paddle out as much any more.

I drove to one of my favorite beach places but didn’t feel like walking down the cliff, coming back up is the hard part.
Heading to a easier spot if I can find a place for parking.
The wind is blowing and it’s a little chilly here.

Good morning, is this sunset cliffs by chance?
This is my favorite place for surfing.

My daughter n son in law are moving to Taos NM. I suspect not a lot of water compared to Michigan. Anyone on the FS have a fishy knowledge of the area?

I don't know much about the fishing there however I'm envious. I love Taos and the area surrounding it. Been there many times and wish I could move there.

Intake 2 has really good fishing. The spillway area is best. Season won't be open until the last Saturday of this month. It still might be frozen over at that time, end of May might be better.
