I was thinking about how you would have enjoyed the smooth water. It was so flat that there were no breakers on the rock by the buoy.

WOW, that's unusual, no breakers.

Thanks Fireguy. The calm lasted all day here, but the sun only showed up for 15 minutes. Yes it is my friend.

Beautiful day today. The ocean was flat and smooth. Was able to cruise at 25 mph to the fishing grounds. At one point I was able to work out the engine for a few minutes hitting 37.5 mph before I throttled back to 25 mph. My boat is very economical at that speed, running at about 3000 rpm. Full throttle is about 4200 rpm. I have a 19’ fiberglass StarCraft with a 6 cylinder OMC stern drive. No skunk. Several sub legal cod, biggest was 20”, and lots of pollock and mackerel.

Glad you got out, the prediction had been for strong winds in the afternoon. Wish I could have joined you. But, firewood is s higher priority right now. Heading to Somersworth tomorrow for my Flu shot, then to Newicks to chow down.

Took a short trip to Zoar, to try out the Jackson Cove ramp. Warmer this morning than it has been, but the water is cooling off. 58° at the ramp, and 60° in the cove near the dam. Couldn't find anything in the south end but nibblers. Worked my way back north and found a stretch with some fish, but all small ones. Put 4 Largemouth and 1 Smallmouth in the boat, and missed 1 bigger fish. Zero wind today, and the leaves are changing.

Nice fish Fred!
I went out yesterday when the water was flat, for 15 minutes, then the wind picked up. Fished for an hour, 2 hits on a worm, skunked again. This time of year is very trying up north.

Nice! Looks like the Spinnerbait bite is on up there.

3 fish on 3 different baits last night, spinner, jointed perch, and craw papi. Had to quit at dark.

Nice catching Fireguy! Any fish is better than the Skunk brother. Thanks for the pictures.

Ya Fred, I was getting a little discouraged with those skunks following me around. I think I'll stick to evening outings. Got this on from the shore the night before last.

Ha ha. I jumped in and got it but the next day when I put it on the charger it fried some circuits. It was in water for 10minutes or so. Person emptied ice chest and didn't realize phone was in side pocket. It did work though for about 24 hrs. If I'd left it alone to dry out a few days, might have been OK. Never know.

😯
I guess you won't be using the coolers side pocket anytime soon!

Oh, good to know. I just bought the S23. Haven't checked out the camera yet. I loved the pics from my S9, the one that took an unsupervised swim in the ocean last day of my vacation!

What, they don't work underwater, or did it end up in Davy Jones locker?

Nice catching Fg! I too like wetting a line after a rain. The bass, being the opportunistic feeders they are, take advantage of the bug buffet or whatever the rain has washed out of the sky and overhangs.🎣🎣🎣

DC, I've been skunked the last 2 day outings, evenings seem to work. It's tough during the transition from summer to winter. But caught 3 on 3 different baits.

Wow, what kind of phone do you have? Those pics are crystal clear and your lake is beautiful!

K, it's an older Android, S-51 I think. Bought it for the camera.
Yes, the pond is about 86 acres, nestled in bowl. Fall color is beginning to show. Very peaceful this time of year, most of the seasonals have left. Won't be long before we'll be doing some hardwater fishin'.

Catching has has been slow lately on our little pond in NH. But got out just before dark last night after a brief rain shower, and the wind died. Three LM in 45 minutes, each on a different bait. Nothing to brag about, but they were fiesty.
