Beautiful day today. The ocean was flat and smooth. Was able to cruise at 25 mph to the fishing grounds. At one point I was able to work out the engine for a few minutes hitting 37.5 mph before I throttled back to 25 mph. My boat is very economical at that speed, running at about 3000 rpm. Full throttle is about 4200 rpm. I have a 19โ fiberglass StarCraft with a 6 cylinder OMC stern drive. No skunk. Several sub legal cod, biggest was 20โ, and lots of pollock and mackerel.
Very nice, congrats!
That first one had to put up quite a fight!๐

Good to hear from you Glen, fine looking catches there and nice scenery too. Thank You.
Sounds like a perfectly sized boat for your times on the water! That had to be a blast catching all those pollock on the teaser rig! That is one huge jig too! Big lures for big fish! Great post and photos!

Good catching and nice pics. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful pictures. We would love to give saltwater fishing a try.

If you make it to New Hampshire, weโll make it happen ๐
The picture of the jig is deceiving. My hands are small and the fish was smaller. That jig is maybe 8โ long and maybe 6oz. Some of the cod jigs go up to 32oz. A lot of the time with current or wind 16oz wonโt stay on the bottom.
Wow ๐ฎ thatโs awesome ๐.

Glad you got out, the prediction had been for strong winds in the afternoon. Wish I could have joined you. But, firewood is s higher priority right now. Heading to Somersworth tomorrow for my Flu shot, then to Newicks to chow down.

I was thinking about how you would have enjoyed the smooth water. It was so flat that there were no breakers on the rock by the buoy.

WOW, that's unusual, no breakers.

Ya think? Another day like this makes me think about a trip to Jeffries Ledge for haddock.
