Awesome! The wind has just been stupid here in north central WI this Spring.

It has been here as well! A nice 55ยฐ day is not so nice with 20-25 mph winds!

That's an awesome day on the water Outcast! Glad you found them hungry and willing to sample your offering!

They are starting to get active around our area as well. Right now they are still in the schooling mode but as the water temps rise they will be pairing up and getting away from the pack.

Thanks Yaker!
The lake I was fishing has a max depth of 25โ€™.. I figured it would be warmer than other lakes that push 100+ feet up hereโ€ฆ and I was right.. main body of lake was 59ยฐ, shallow bays 64.5-65ยฐ.. relatively calm day with abundant sunshine.. as soon as sun got low behind trees, water temps dropped 2-3ยฐ in what seemed like a matter of minutes..and still dropping as I made my way back to launch.

After researching Walleye charters for a few weeks back in February, I finally chose Captain Drew Bercaw to take our group out for two outings, Friday morning and Saturday afternoon. We worked out of N.E. Port Marina, Port Clinton, Oh. and boated about 9.5 miles to just south of the Canadian border. We cast and drift fished with spinner rigs and nightcrawlers in about 25' of water. The bite was very good with catching many fish from 13"- 26 .5"
It was a little breezy and rough on Friday with 3-5' waves and a little rain but slightly smaller 2-3' on Saturday. It definitely gave our legs a workout.
We ended up with between 45 & 50 pounds of fillets which will be enjoyed by multiple families.
We are excited about scheduling with Capt. Drew again for next year if not sooner as we are possibly looking at a fall trip.
A good time had by all.

Nice MAs!
Lake Erie is a phenomenal fisheryโ€ฆ I was fortunate to live within a couple miles of it for 60 yrs! Fished it for 40 of those years!

Hello stagers! Spring has arrived in Northern Michigan.. was a beautiful day yesterday without hurricane force winds we have had of late.. chores be damned!
Prepped my rods and picked a lake and went fishing!
Took me a few hrs to locate them, but finally found them! Tried a few known locations and caught a dink on a crankbait.. went exploring and found a bunch of Smallies that wanted to playโ€ฆcaught them all on a Zoom superfluke, cream and chartreuse color.. I missed several, could not get a hook in them.. so I downsized hook and game on. Ended up with 9-10 caught and released, biggest just a tad over 4lbsโ€ฆnothing like smallies!
