It looks like you're from Ukiah? Have you checked out Clear Lake? I spent my summers in Nice at my grandma's house. In the evening we go swimming at the public peir and the crappie would come up and bite at the air bubbles on your leg (lol).

A good pace to try would be Lake Amador. You have to pay to fish there but they stock some pretty good size cutbows. If fishing from a boat try trolling about 1to1.5mph with a half & half dodger with a treaded worm trailer. You can rent boats there but it makes for a $$$ day.

I second what Spirit said. I bought a Ugly stick UL spinning rod when they first came out in the late 70's and just recently past it down to my granddaughter and it's still going strong.

I used to hear that every year. I even read that the chipmunks were almost extinct according to a bay area writer (lol). Just don't leave food out that they can get into and wash your hands before eating and everyone will be fine.

Telescopic rods have their place, but also have limits. I used to take one with a micro reel deer hunting or hiking into the backcountry to catch dinner, but that was the only time I used them. If you're going for anything bigger then pan fish, go with a good two piece or one piece rod.

I used to go out of Berkeley to a area known as California city. Always did pretty good trolling hearing on a rotary salmon killer.

I call it the "I'm goin to gets me mines" syndrome. Most people only care about themselves. It's also why I always take my sturgeon pole with 80 braided line and a Penn level-wind reel. I've collected lots of lures that way.

Head up to Silver Creek, there are a couple of bridges that F&G drop fish from. I've done pretty good under the bridges but you've got to be stealthy.

We hit Ririe yesterday for Kokanee. We got on the water at 7 am. We found them around 40 foot deep. We caught them trolling around 1 mph with downriggers. A pink and silver dodger about 12 inches of leader then a pink squid type lure tipped with corn. I got quit a few on a little kokanee lure that was pink on one side and White on the other, also tipped with corn. It was steady fishing and by 11:30 we had our 30 fish limmit. 15 each. Then got two more before we could get the rest of the poles back in. We did catch some small ones, but mainly, they are the best I've ever seen at Ririe. Steady action the whole time.

Wanting to do a trip up to LPO in the spring, does anyone have any tips on rv camping, best area to try for kokanee, and baits? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks and God bless.
