Here are some of my favorites, I'm sure you all will recognize them. Probably missed a few.

Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn
Here's looking at you, kid
You're gonna need a bigger boat
May the Force be with you
I'll be back
You can't handle the truth
Yippie-ki-yay, motherf—er
Houston, we have a problem
There's no crying in baseball
Mrs. Robinson, you're trying to seduce me, aren't you?
Leave the gun. Take the cannoli
Show me the money
You've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel lucky?' Well, do ya punk?
I love the smell of napalm in the morning
Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer
Shaken, not stirred
Mama says, Stupid is as stupid does
Hasta la vista, baby
Go ahead, make my day
Get your stinking paws off me, you damned dirty ape

I haven't heard of cops pulling anybody over here in Pa. Personally, I'm obeying my own rules which are probably more restrictive than the laws - just makes sense to me - I'm in survival mode - protecting myself. I do object to those carelessly socializing - that's selfish and just prolonging the pandemic and increasing the risk to everybody else. The old saying seems appropriate - what goes around, comes around.

those were the days when

people actually talked to each other

we had it all and didn't realize it

do you remember"double dog dare"?

all the girls had ugly gym clothes

it took three minutes for the tv to warm up

no one owned a purebred dog

a quarter was an excellent allowance

you would stoop to pick up a penny in the gutter

you got your windshield cleaned, your oil checked, tires checked and gas pumped without asking, and all for free.and you even got trading stamps

laundry detergent had free glasses ,dishes or towels inside the box

they said they would keep kids back a grade if they failed--and they actually did it

a 57 chevy was every ones dream car--to cruise,peel out,lay rubber,or street race

young people went steady

lying on your back in the grass with your friends saying things like--"that cloud looks like a"--

playing ball with no adults around to make up rules

stuff from the store came without safety caps and hermetic seals, because no one then tried to poison perfect strangers

and with all our progress don't you wish, just once, that you could step back in time and savor the slower pace, and share it with the children of today

kids actually had to be selected to play on organized baseball or football teams

no one got trophys or awards just for competing

candy cigarettes, wax miniature coke bottles with colored sugar water inside,

party lines,pea shooters,78 rpm records,green stamps,mimeograph paper

do you remember when decisions were made by "eeny-meeny-miney-moe"?

mistakes were corrected by uttering "do over"

race issues meant who was the fastest runner

catching fireflies could happily occupy an entire evening

it wasn't odd to have more than one best friend

Saturday morning cartoons weren't 30 minute commercials for action figures

"olly olly action free" made perfect sense

spinning around getting dizzy and falling down was amusement

the worst embarrassment was being picked last for a sandlot team

war--was a card game

taking drugs meant orange flavored chewable aspirin

water balloons were a weapon

I am sharing this with you today because a friend "double dog dared "me to

remember the perfect age is somewhere between old enough to know better and too young to care

do you remember Howdy Doody,Peanut Gallery,The Lone Ranger,The Shadow Knows,Gene Autry,Roy Rogers,Hopalong Cassidy,Bob Steele,Tom mix ,Tim Holt,Lash Larue,Randolf Scott,Trigger

,buttermilk,Silver,Scout, and oh so many others from our past?Bob Hope,Bing Crosby,Red Skelton,Fibber Mcgee and Molly,Amos and Andy

Benny Goodman,Xavier Cugat

Clark Gable,Maureen Ohara,,Spencer Tracy,Katherine Hepburn,James Cagney,Edward G Robinson,Humphrey Bogart?

Hank Williams,Ernest Tubbs,Roy Acuff--to name just a few

Do you remember??

If you remember all or most of them

then you have lived my friend
those were the days when br br br people actuall... (show quote)

"playing ball with no adults around to make up rules" - Another good one BB
We did it all the time. During football season my favorite was "Kill the man with the ball" which basically had no rules. Turned out to be a good training drill for when we played organized football.

Ah yes - the roller skating rinks. As a 12 year old, a friend and i would take a bus (imagine that today) about 8 miles to nearest rink. Thought we were hot stuff with the girls - NOT.

Many hours spent with my Duncan yoyo - walk the dog, around the world.

And then there were slot cars. Local hobby shop had a nice track, held races weekly, awarded prizes quarterly based on point standings

Buying baseball cards for the gum. Not knowing a Hank Aaron rookie card would be worth thousands years later. Sometimes we put the cards in the spokes of our bikes.

We used to play games with baseball cards.

"Wallsies" - if you had several - maybe half dozen kids - from a distance of 10 feet from a wall - toss your card to the wall - whoever was closest to the wall won all the cards for that round. Games usually ended with one kid gaining a windfall and others wiped out.

"Knocksies" - Lean a card against the wall. Again from 10 feet, toss you card attempting to knock the leaner down - also winner take all.

Winter king salmon in Alaska. That’s one of my fishing buddies up there. He’s 6’5” and holding that fish out for the picture. It’s only about 25 pounds but looks like a monster in the picture. Nice fish but it’s not as big as it looks. All of the ones on the floor of the boat are about that size. It just shows what the fish is. Not real difficult to catch a batch of 20 pound Kings out of the bay there in about 3 hours with 5 rods on downriggers trolling behind a 55 foot boat.

You shouldn't have told us about the size illusion, we would have been even more impressed
