I’m wondering if anyone is confused as to why the Idaho State prosecuting attorney is refusing to try cases where people are being cited for violating the stay at home order. He said it’s un-constitutional and he can’t, in good faith, prosecute someone who hasn’t committed a crime. People are not gathering here and most are honoring the distancing rule, wearing masks and gloves. We don’t have any cases in the county I live in. Contrary to media claims. Cops are citing people for driving through certain areas that can’t prove they’re there for “essential” purposes. Our governor says to go outside and get some fresh air but if you have to drive it’s too far from home. Very confusing. We can go to the grocery store but not if we have to drive to get there? Pretty gray area. I’m wondering what the variations are around the country. Oregon says working is an “essential” activity but don’t gather in a crowd if not necessary? What constitutes necessary and if it’s “necessary” how does that change anything? There’s 8 states refusing to apply a stay at home order and all is well there🤷‍♂️. Mass media is very confusing so I don’t watch it. Just where I am or need to go. I’d trust folks here more than the media for sure. I, for one, am getting tired of the tyranny.

I haven't heard of cops pulling anybody over here in Pa. Personally, I'm obeying my own rules which are probably more restrictive than the laws - just makes sense to me - I'm in survival mode - protecting myself. I do object to those carelessly socializing - that's selfish and just prolonging the pandemic and increasing the risk to everybody else. The old saying seems appropriate - what goes around, comes around.

I agree. I’m doing the same thing. I’ve been to the post office twice and haven’t been to the grocery store since March 19th. 👍

I don't know about Idaho but here it is real , I just found out my friends wife has been in hospital 3 days with it their daughter who just turned 5 has it and he just tested positive today and they only went to the market and pharmacy in the last 3 weeks . I finally had to go to the Aldi for food , tried at noon but couldn't get it it was so crowded so I waited till dinner time and out of the maybe 20 people in there half had masks on 3 others didn't cover their nose even after the governor said everyone is to ware something over the face and nose . until it hits them they just don't get it ! I have 3 sons at home now , one works at McDonalds in close quarters with 7 people , one is an EMT in phila . the other is an IT at Holy Redeemer Hospital so we are doing everything we can , they are 19, 21 and 23 , good odds for them I hope , I am 67 , not so good . however they are devoted to the cause and I am devoted to them . here in the northeast , Pa. N.J. N.york it is serious and people are being so stupid every time Mr. Big shot goes on TV and down plays this thing . that's My observation .

It's not the same all over. I live rural so my exposure is not that great. The governor seems to be frightened to death. He lives on the west side of the state and I'm on the east side. Geographically we're two different cultures. It's not that hard to social distance on the east side unless you live in one of the metropolitan areas.

Going to the grocery store is another matter. My wife tells me that some stores just don't care and their customers seem to follow that attitude. Others are much more concerned. I am content to stay home unless I can get out and fish. The governor has shut that down so now I'm working on projects in my shop.

Can't wait for the governor to get a little courage. There are more people in this state with brains than just the doctors. I can easily fish and social distance at the same time.

By the way, I'm in my upper 70's but I realize that I'm going to die some time. Might as well be fishing or hunting.

I believe fishing is a safe thing to do for most of us and i am missing the best fishing in years however just look at what happens at the ramp and the idiots on the water when common sense is not to be found . when things open up again look out, after people being cooped up for so long , yes we could go and be careful and be fine I get that but I was told when I was a foreman that I cant expect other people to do what I can or what I would do . I see how fast it spread around the world and would rather hold the fort down a little longer than a second wave that would be like starting over on top of what we already have , so far as we are going to die some time anyway I worked over 50 years on the books , I want to enjoy myself I deserve it and want to collect my pension and SS i paid into all those years for a while anyway , I'm glad you live in a safer place and I trust you will be smart because we've been around the block , not so for everyone . is that eastern washington state , wow great fishing up there ! I wish you the best for many years to come . Peace !

What I don't get is you can go to the store, some are limiting how many people can be in the store at one time, and they want us to stay 6 feet apart. But when going down the aisles and someone is coming the other way, there is not enough room to do 6 feet apart because the aisles are not wide enough for that. They should make the aisles one way.

Our local Acme market did just that. They used blue tape to make arrows on the floor. On the PA system are continuously announcing “one way” rules

My wife went to Safeway a few days ago and remarked that there were arrows on the floor and the employees were doing their part but she encountered a couple coming down the aisle the opposite way from the arrows and not wearing any face covering. They apparently just didn't care.

I expect the fishing ramps to be a zoo. It's been that way before for years.

About flattening the curve: the area under the curve is going to be the same. One way it gets over faster but stresses our health care system more for a shorter period of time and the other way it gets over quicker but many more get the virus at the same time. Prolonging it is just torturing the society over a longer period of time.

We'll see how things turn out in Sweden. Their numbers are high now as would be expected but should drop quickly when almost everyone has been exposed. I studied bell curves for my work and know about probabilities.
