Looks like you had a fun and Successful trip! Especially considering the weather conditions. Makes you want to come back for more. Next time you’ll get that walleye. Good luck
Nice catch, I grew up fishing Mosquito, living in Central Ohio now, boy do I miss it.
Good luck Ben! Post pictures please
Nice J, that’s what it is all about.
Hello Darlene, Mosquito Creek reservoir is in your back yard. I grew up fishing there. We always had good luck fishing for walleye off the causeway. Give it a try, I think you will like it. If you want to rent a boat and motor, Causeway Sportshop is a great place. Friendly people and loads of information too. Good luck!
Welcome twinkle, If you are on Facebook, join the group “Ohio Alum Creek Fishing Reports and Photos”. The fishermen and women in the group are a wealth of knowledge and are willing to share. In the south pool I’d suggest the first two inlets on the east side of the lake on Africa Rd., or around the Howard rd. Ramp in the north pool. Good luck
Congratulations on the new addition!
Planning on hitting Alum or Delaware on Monday. Where were you on Delaware?
Great way to wait, congrats
Follow the money! I realize the perch population is down, and regulations need to be in place to reestablish the population. However why not place the limit to 20 lake wide instead of just dropping the limit to 10 in the central basin? Could it be that the head boats in the western basin couldn’t charge $74 per person to catch 10 perch?
ODNR has just lowered the perch limit from 30 to 10 in the central basin. Huron Piet to Fairport Harbor.
Good luck Ben, bring home dinner!
If you are looking for something new, Another lake you may want to try is Knox Lake near Fredericktown. It is a lot closer and one of the top bass lakes in the state. It is also is very kayak friendly. Currently they are rebuilding the dam, but that project is supposed to be completed in June. I don’t know when full pool will occur, but I had good success there last fall. Just a thought, good luck
